Rated 5 out of 5 by from A first I am actually an installer. I had a client come in with one of these and I was highly curious about how it would perform. In 15 years of installing professionally I have never see an all-in-one hideaway solution that I would even call mediocre. This product changed that. Very impressive, enough so that I will be purchasing one for my daily driver. The only issue is that the included bolt down hardware will not work in all vehicles, so there may be the need for a little creativity. In comparison to everything else about this product, that is a very small downside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job! Very well indeed Lovely unit. Shakes the car. Does not take space. Lots of options with the supplied controller.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sound - innovative design I have the Bass Pro Hub in the trunk of a Toyota Avalon and the sound is authoritive with the right amount of punch to satisfy. I control the sub from my car stereo subwoofer interface and was disappointed to learn that you couldn't run the Bass Pro Hub without the wired remote control (that I don't use and didn't install in the passenger cabin). Now I have a ton of wiring in my trunk hoping the install would be cleaner. Can't have everything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome product with awesome punches! I bought this JBL Basspro Hub and installed in my 2016 Ford Fiesta ST. I had to buy new set of thread rod and nuts to hold down the Hub because the one that came with package didn't fit my thread. Other than that, I installed them with my friend and I was surprised by amount of bass it can produce! It's definitely one of my best investment! JBL did it again to live it up to its Legendary!

Product Q&A

If using the high level input, do you still need a remote turn on wire? I want to use my factory stereo and just tap into the existing speakers.

Asked by: Buzman
You do not need to hook-up a remote when using high-level speaker inputs. The sub's amp will automatically turn on when it senses signal from the speakers.

Would this fit in the spare (mini spare type) of a 2003 Miata?

Asked by: codymc
Unfortunately, we can't verify if the BassPro Hub would fit your 2003 Miata, though if the location where you plan to put it is 11" in diameter, then it should fit in theory; otherwise, you may need to do a custom install.

Why does your fitment guide say it will not fit my 2018 chevy malibu? Is it because it does not have a spare. It has the room just a tire repair kit.

Asked by: Darrin
Our JBL Bass Pro Hub has dimensions of 14-3/16” x 6-1/2” (D x H). It should fit with any 15" spare tire. You'll have to measure the inside of your spare tire hub to see if the sub will fit or not. For more product recommendations, please reach out to our Audio Specialists. https://bit.ly/2T0zVT8

Saw on crutchfield that this sub has an auto turn on feature when it detects speaker level inputs. Is this true? Meaning that a remote turn on (via splicing into a certain wire or using a fuse that only has power when the car is on) is not necessary?

Asked by: Hypergram
When the speaker level inputs are used, the system can automatically turn on and off by sensing the voltage on the speaker's input. Note: The auto turn-on feature does not operate when the preamp level inputs are used.

I have 16’ Fiesta St and it has a full size 15” spare wheel. The diameter inside my spare wheel is 14 3/8 inches. Will this fit in my spare tire?

Asked by: Hahaha31234
Yes. JBL BASSPro Hub has a diameter of 14-3/16 inches and a depth of 6.5 inches, which makes it smaller than the spare wheel dimensions of your Ford Fiesta.
