I was wondering if a pair of these would be good to plug an iPod in direct for music
Yes I use an 1/8 inch stereo headphone jack split into 2 male XLR's and play music through the JBL's from my computer or directly from my phone and they sound incredible. No interface needed. The JBL's will take either XLR male or 1/4" male inputs. Both sound great and you can buy those cables at Guitar Center for $15 to $20. I have the LSR 305 JBL's on my desk and they are amazing. So good I bought a pair of them as a gift for a family member.

Are you able to plug a dynamic mic directly into the monitor and use for a small meeting?
Great question! I have a compact 4 channel Mackie mixer board that accommodates two wireless microphones and two 50ft corded mics. You must have the proper cables and adaptors to make it work for you. You don't need a degree in audio enginerring to set this up...try it today....thank me later.

Is there a way to control the volume of both of these speakers with one control i have purchased two of them for a turntable and to also use as computer speakers
The best way is to set a static level on the speakers and control the volume from the source.
