Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great as rear speakers. I just got these open box at best buy for $100 for the pair. Now I had already bought the Studio 230 which are A plus.. This pair handles the 4 and 5 slot on my side couch tables.. Not quite enough speaker here to fill a room alone. But paired with some good front ones these provide crisp music and movie details from the recording studio. I prefer these over all the little wireless ones getting all the attention

Product Q&A

What is the max watts they can handle? Also between these & the JBL Control X which is better? I have a Harman Kardon AVR1700 I was going to use for center the JBL Arena 125 C & the the Sub JBL Arena Sub 100P.

Asked by: Scott305
The JBL Arena 120 and the Control X both can handle up to a 100W of amplification. The main difference is that the Control X are made for outdoor use at all weather conditions. The Arena however are made for indoor use and is a great match with the Arena 125C and Sub100P.

Do the 120s require a break in period? Do they work well as main speakers in a 2.0 setup?  I don't want the 130s as they are rear ported.  Thank.

Could you connect your phone into this with a cord of some sort like and aux cord?

Asked by: Breckin22
Unfortunately, you can directly connect your phone to this speaker with a cord or wirelessly. You need to connect this speaker (preferably a pair) to an amp or receiver, then connect your phone to the amp or receiver.

What are the recommended wall mounts for the Arena 120?

Asked by: Rich_Bower
There are no fixed/required distance for mounting the speakers on walls. It would really depend on your listening preferences. For perfectly natural sonic response from the speaker, it should be at least 12” from the wall. As you move the speaker closer to the wall the perceived bass will increase. You can move it as close as you’d like to the wall, to get the desired bass from the speaker, as long as you don’t place the speaker any closer to the wall than the diameter of the port.
