can these play music from a stereo receiver?

Asked by: BB469
Thanks for sending us a question. Since our JBL Control Xstream speakers are considered active speakers, they can't be used as the speakers for an amplifier or receiver. If you want to check out what speakers you can use for your stereo receiver, check out this link here and it will show you a list of passive loudspeakers: https://www.jbl.com/loudspeakers/

are these compatible as a rear bluetooth pair for surround sound on a JBL 3.1?

Asked by: JCG831
No, this is not compatible with the JBL Bar 3.1 as a rear speaker, since the JBL Bar 3.1 system does not have a provision to have any additional speakers to be added to it as additional channels or satellite speakers, may it be wired or wireless.

how bad is the latency on these? can you watch a movie?

Asked by: bigbob123
Not really. The visual-audio lag is noticeable. I connected by tv to the speakers via bluetooth and was disappointed. I'm going to see if I can wire the tv to the speakers through the aux. wish me luck.

Do both speakers have the auxiliary input? Or do you just connect a device to 1 and it plays out of both units? Can the same be said for Bluetooth connection?

Asked by: Jimmmmg
Only the primary speaker has the Auxiliary input. Our JBL Control X Stream speakers are automatically paired with each other via Bluetooth. If it does not connect right away, use a paper clip or similar object to press the pairing button on both units within 3 minutes of each other. Both speakers will communicate with each other. Would it be possible to pair the speakers with the JBL link series? They both have Chromecast, so in theory they should be able to pair, right? Just looking for confirmation on this :-)

Asked by: RustyGold
Yes, you can set up the JBL Link series and the Control Xstream in the same group in the Google home application. You can then designate to cast the music to the Control Xstream speakers using the voice assistant Link.
