Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for money system If your like me ( a bit sceptical about things ) because after trying a few other sound bars out ie bose ( yes bose ) yamaha etc i wasn`t really impressed at all with them but i`m happy to say that the JBL SB250 bar and sub sound great . The bar itself is also remote learning so it will learn simple functions from any tv or sky remote ( volume / on/off , mute ) so no extra remotes required . There is adjustable bass control , surround sound , stereo etc functions on the small remote it comes with and on the bar itself .The bar can be free standing or wall mounted or even mounted on top of your tv ( via an aftermarket fitting kit ( £10 delivered from ebay ) . Can honestly say the sound from the tv through this system has been transformed so for the money there worth every penny 100% .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very dissappointing quality We have owned for 2 years. Putting aside the sound quality, which is understandably underwhelming at this price point, the real disappointment has been the remote, which only works if held within 3 feet of the device. Yes, you heard me. We swapped in brand new batteries to try and rectify when we received the device and were dumbfounded when that didn't correct the issue. The customer service explanation is that the remote isn't intended for long distances... who in the world sits within 3 feet of their soundbar? Highly disappointing product offering and service resolution from JBL, which was once a premier brand.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific sound at this price! We've had this for almost a year now. We got it so we could get rid of some bedroom furniture and wall-mount it with our TV in our bedroom. It puts out terrific, clear audio for such an entry-level soundbar. We crank it up quite a bit and it almost sounds better at higher volumes. BT is easy to connect and never has any issues. I might have gone with a higher model, but we didn't want a soundbar that was wider than our TV. We have a 40" Samsung and it is sized perfectly. We do, very occasionally, hear a loud 'pop' from the sub like someone else mentioned, but I've always attributed it to the sub's location. We have a platform-style bed in our bed room and the sub is under it in the corner closest to the TV and soundbar. The sub is not inhibited at all by its placement. It may even help with the sound. No real complaints. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from At the movies ! Picked up for Mom & Dad . They watch movies in bedroom on 32". They said "feels like we are at the movies" Was very easy to set up for me. Make sure sound bar is blinking fast to pair sub. Had to turn power of sound bar on and off a couple times for that. Very solid with lots of power. put in front of tv. It has switch for table or wall mount. Sub is perfect.Very nice as expected from JBL.

Product Q&A

I just got the sound bar system and its great!! However, the subwoofer keeps "popping" every few minutes and it's very annoying. How do I get it to stop doing it?

Asked by: RichieRich9969
Hi RichieRich, were you ever able to figure this out on yours? I have the same problem and have completely exhausted myself troubleshooting and moving things around to try and fix it.

When I pair my sound at with the subwoofer it pairs for a few minutes, then the blue light goes out on the subwoofer. Does the blue light have to be on for the subwoofer to stay connected? If so, why does it not work correctly?

Asked by: Mary
I was not able to get the sub to pair with the soundbar. Called Crutchfield (where I purchased), they were no help, did not have a manual. Called JBL and they did not have a manual either. Their tech had a unit in his location and he played with his to come up with a solution. If your sub is flashing at a different rate than your sound bar they will not sync. Turn the power off to both units. Reconnect the Power. Push the sync button on the soundbar then push the button on the subwoofer, it they are flashing at a different rate push the button on the soundbar a second time possibly a third until they are flashing at the same rate. Once they are flashing at the same rate they will connect and you are in business.

I purchased JBL SB250 on 10-4-2016 and i am unable to connect it to TV from the cable what JBL has provided. How to connect jbl sb250 to tv using aux analog cable?

Asked by: deepu
If your TV has a digital optical audio output: Connect the supplied optical cable between the TV and the SB250. You will then have to set your TV to send the audio signal to the optical output, and you will have to select the optical input on the SB250. If your TV has left and right (white & red) analog audio outputs: Connect the supplied cable between the TV and the aux input on the SB250. This output on the TV may be effected by the volume control on your TV. Some TV's will give you the opportunity to set this output to FIXED or VARIABLE. If your TV provides this option, set the TV speakers to OFF and set the output to FIXED. Then set the SB250 to the aux input and you'll be set. If your TV has a mini-stereo headphone/line output: You will need to purchase a mini-stereo to mini-stereo audio cable, and connect it between the headphone/line output on the TV and the aux input on the SB250.

My subwoofer is making a poping sound , and i just got it today brand new , can u say how can i fix this ? thank you

Asked by: dushawn
When a speaker begins to pop, it means that it is receiving a signal that is clipped or distorted. This is telling you to turn down your volume control. It could also be due to an interference caused by a wireless router another wireless device like phones, tablets or computers for example which may be active around the unit. please try to turn off or move away any wireless devices and check whether the noise is gone. You can also try to move the subwoofer to a different location for a test.

I am having a random thumping from the sub woofer only when i am connected by bluetooth to my phone to play music. It is also happening when my wife's phone is connected. Whats the issue? Thanks

Asked by: Derp
What you are experiencing with the SB250's subwoofer is not normal. Try to adjust the bass level lower and see if the thumping noise will still be present. If it is, please submit a case at jbl.com/contactus and our Customer Service Team will be glad to assist you.

Two speakers work when in stereo. The CINEMA SB250 includes two-way, dual driver left and right speaker modules which both works that provides proper staging of the Left and Right channels when in stereo mode.

BT Lost Buffer Connection Hello, I have a problem with the buffer. Constantly losing touch and hear a strong pop when listening through Apple laptop. I did reset the system, but not effect. What to do? Will there be an update to fix the problem?

Asked by: Martev
This seems very odd. Please try a different Bluetooth device with the SB250, to determine if it is a compatibility problem or something else. Also, be sure the Bluetooth device is not more than 30 feet away, with a clear line of sight. And last, try it with a different app. I've noticed that some apps are a bit quirky when transmitting BT.
