Rated 2 out of 5 by from Singing the JBL EON ONE Compact Blues I unboxed the system and was impressed by its features and fairly lightweight. I plugged it in and the green power button lit up but went out but the system's front power light stayed on. I noticed the battery was also charging and I plugged in both my portable CD player to play Skaggs & Rice, and my Yamaha LL-TA TransAcoustic. I adjusted the various knobs and heard a really good amplification of the CD's music and also of my Yamaha LL-TA's guitar tone. No problems with the tone and volume of this JBL system's amplification process! The problem was that I couldn't power-off the speaker as the Power Button didn't do anything. Also, unplugging the JBL just switched the unit to its battery-power mode which of course with a defective Power Button couldn't be switched off either. I left the system, as is, overnight, and looking at it this morning reveals that everything is now off and can't be turned back on! I'm going to peruse the JBL website for any Troubleshooting information that may be available but at this time it looks like I'll ship the JBL EON ONE Compact back to Sweetwater for a refund or exchange. I'm not sure, however, if I want another JBL Compact as this first one isn't inspiring any confidence in the initial units being sold.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Proper! After scrutinizing over the JBL EON One Compact with several other brands, we are glad to have added these speakers to our sound arsenal. Solid battery performance. Good safe on/off button (in contrast to others' opinions). Good weight for transportation---get a gig bag for it to save on the wear and tear. The sound levels at the rated mHZ was spot-on...enough to lift the party at most venues sans the wires and limits.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hour I've been using this for wedding ceremonies for the past few years. I love how long the battery lasts, and that I can plug in two mic receivers along with a guitar or keyboard, which other products like the EV Everse 8 cannot do, plus music via an aux or bluetooth. When music mode is used, the LF extension is pretty good (though the max SPL is limited). It's been very reliable for me (only one one occasion did I have the speaker dropout when I was connecting the app). It allows me to have a truly wireless ceremony system

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sounds great when it works - unreliable I've had this now for several months. At first I thought it was the best thing since slice bread - love the sound for such a small unit. Unfortunately it does crazy things like shuts down in the middle of songs and has to be rebooted. Sometimes when it's plugged in it will simply show red and shut itself down, needing to be rebooted again and again until it finally figures out that it's plugged in. This software is most likely to blame - it badly needs fixes for these problems because the sound blows away the competition.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Worked Great!!!! Until... I bought one unit and the system exceeded my expectations!!! The sound was excellent, I loved the features on the app, especially the EQ. I decided to buy another unit to use together and this is where I started having issues!!!!! The bluetooth broadcast hardly works and it has been extremely glitchy and difficult to pair the two systems in stereo mode. Then when I finally got the two to sync together, there was no function to adjust system together. I had to adjust the master fader, input gain, and make sure that they were eq'd the same to make sure they were playing exact. I even tried just adjusting the "host" unit to see if it was adjust the remote unit and it didn't. I hope JBL fixes these issue with an app update in the near future, otherwise trying to use two units together is almost useless.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sound, light weight, nice bass tones This is a great compact speaker so far. It has great sound, low end bass, and it is very light weight. The number of inputs is great, and bluetooth connectivity worked well. I have yet to fully test the battery life, but so far it seems to hold up. The ONE issue is that the app doesn't work for me at all. I can install it, and it loads up - but it doesn't detect any speakers (I have 2 of them). I have an android, ver 7.0. The app loads fine, it just doesn't help at all with the speakers which is a shame because I really want to operate in stereo mode with bluetooth. The way it works now, I can only connect to one speaker, and I have to use the through line to connect to the other speaker....but that just gives me double mono. Other people don't seem to have an issue with the app, so I wonder what the problem is here.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good sound, portable, very worthwhile app This unit is very comparable to the Bose S1.Overall sound sound and projection. The set up is a bit complicated but it can be dialed in nicely when you figure it out. The app is very worthwhile and really adds to the unit's versatility. A very good product for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great but not perfect The EON One Compact shines when it comes to sound quality, and that's where the emphasis should be. Other nice features: portability, socket for speaker stand, Bluetooth input, and phantom power. Incidentally, these last two features are why I chose the Eon Compact over the Roland Street Cube EX. Where the EON falls short: like other reviewers, I struggle to use the controls which use red light to indicate their position. I presume a dial that is 1/2 lit is at 50% of its range, but it's by no means obvious, and having no physical minimum or maximum position makes it doubly challenging. Yes, I am old school - give me a knob that goes from 1 to 10 (or 11) with a hard stop at the low and high ends. I also am a bit challenged by the mixing flexibility. The unit has separate controls for volume, bass, treble, and reverb. A "channel" button lets you scroll through each of the channels, and the one you select is indicated by a red light. You select the channel you want, then make the appropriate adjustments. If you push the channel button until all channels are lit up, the bass, treble, volume, and reverb controls become volume controls that let you mix the volume of each channel. It takes a while to get used to, and I think I'd prefer to adjust the mix with a single volume control for each channel. One thing I am struggling with and I plan to reach out to JBL is whether I can connect a personal monitor to let me hear what's going on in the mix. To prevent feedback, the EON has to be at your side or in front of you, which makes it difficult to hear your own singing and playing. If you connect headphones it disconnects the speakers. There is a line-out jack that the manual says lets you hook up two or more EON Compact for larger venues. I would like to connect just a small mic stand-mounted monitor. I have run a cable from the line out jack into a small powered speaker and there was a delay between the main speaker and monitor that made it impossible to use. I don't consider these issues to be deal-breakers, just the difference between a four-star and five-star review.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Like not love - won't buy more due to bluetooth Bought 2 speakers in July 2022. But I won't be buying more. There are some pro and cons (as you might expect with any speaker). 1. Battery life is great. Charge and go with no issues. 2. Multiple inputs with the onboard mixing. 3. USB power source for 12v (like my wireless mic). Required accessory purchase. 4. Happy with sound quality and tone for 150w 8" speakers. Here is what I wish I knew before I purchased: 1. The bluetooth distribution is hub and spoke. This means there is one source speaker and then you have your receiver speakers. So you can't really spread these around a patio daisy chain style they need to be with in range of the source. 2. The bluetooth linking only links the bluetooth source. It's DOES NOT bluetooth distribute the mix to remote speakers. This means if I have a mic, keyboard and track none of it will be rebroad cast to the remote speakers using the BT sync. Only the BT is synced with remote speakers. I suspect this is due to the older version of BT tech the speakers use and latency and sync issue which would be noticeable in a live environment. 3. I understand the need for infinity knobs with an app that can control volume. But the knob light is very hard to see in daylight and the adjustment light has a long light band. This means syncing speaker to the same volume without using the app is hard because there is no precision control on the main or channel volume. My solution is I just turn the main and channels up 100% since I almost always use an external mixer. 4. The BT connection audio indicator is more than annoying. Here is the scenerio: Connect your phone BT to the speaker BT so you can control the speaker. Get everything working... the performer is playing ... then you walk out of range.. then return ... the phone and speaker reconnect. This is confirmed by a BT connection audio tone through the speakers (while the performer is playing). In conclusion I like the speakers. I'm keeping them. The USB charging external device is the tipping feature for me over their competitor - otherwise I would have returned. But I've disconnect the BT from all my devices and use a 3rd party 2.4g wireless transmitter/receiver from main out (so I get all channels) to the remote speaker. Or cable the speakers together.

Can I set a different echo delay on the guitar channel while using reverb  for example on the main microphone channel via the effects on the speaker

Thank you for your question. Effects are enabled and controlled through the JBL Compact Connect app. However, they are master effects and while it is possible to change the amount of effects sent to each channel, turn on/off each effect and change their level/type, it is not possible to apply different effect settings on each channel.
