Sonic dynasty meets high-tech destiny

The sound of timeless. The technology of now. If perfection ever rests, no one ever broke the news at JBL. As part of the new 10-piece JBL Studio 2 loudspeaker series, we built the Studio 210 surround speakers to speak the languages of both legacy sound and forward-thinking technology. Tested relentlessly in the world’s finest sound research lab – our own – as well as pitted against competitors in real world comparative listening studies, we’ve created a surround loudspeaker that leaves all others behind. We engineered a 4” PolyPlas midrange speaker and side-firing Slipstream bass ports that bathe listeners in rich audio clarity that’s perfectly timed with tight, accurate bass. We might have stopped here – but that’s not how we roll. We added a 1” CMMD® Lite high-frequency driver to ensure low-distortion and a truly generous sound spectrum, and incorporated a High Definition Imaging (HDI) waveguide design to allow for pinpoint sound imaging and cinema-grade balance. Then we finished it all off with seductive touches like gloss black paneling, soft rounded edges, and your choice of either Black or Espresso woodgrain finish. We combined the power and precision of high-tech audio with the sleek urbanity of “it-factor” design. Put another way, we ran wild with sound and vision. For those able to hear the truth, we’re confident you’ll hear it at first listen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Sound & Quality ! Couldn't find a review on these anywhere on the net. I still went with them trusting JBL's history of making quality products. Couldn't be happier! I've got 4 setup right now along with the 225c Center. I have a Yamaha Aventage 1060 receiver and boy do these sound amazing. Hearing things in the music that you just don't hear anywhere else. Having quality speakers along with good cables (Audioquest) and a receiver helps enables you to hear things in the music/movies the way they were mixed in the lab by the pros! Good job JBL My only concern is finding a set in JBL's catalogue that I can mix with these that are also wall mountable for my L/R Fronts. (unless I can use 6 without losing quality) still waiting to hear back from JBL!

Can i use JBL Studio 290 as the front speaker pair and 4 x Studio 210 as the surround. Will it be nice ? . I may not use the surround all the time so , 290 can help while playing in stereo mode

Asked by: rgpknr
Yes, The system that you have described should work and would sound nice with enough power from a amplifier/receiver of at least 225W. The setup you described should work nicely in either stereo or surround mode.

Could you use 6 of these as a full 7.1 surround package with the center? I got 4 already, for mid and rear but I wanna have all my speakers wall mounted. There's nothing else in the series wall mountable.

Asked by: William McGimpsey
Yes you can, that would actually be a perfect set-up as you will be using a single model of speaker for your surround system. Sound coming from the speakers would be balanced as all the speakers have the same specifications.

Would the studio 210 or the 220 be the better speaker to use for rear and side's for the studio 580's? Would the sound really match seeing as how these are 2 completely different set of speakers?

Asked by: Nightf0xx
It would be recommended to have a Studio 5xx series as your side and rear speakers to utilize the speakers for it's maximum potential as using a nonidentical speakers would sound sonically different due to it's design is not the same. Nevertheless you can still use the Studio 210 as the side and rear since they're still in the same Studio series.

Hi, Could and would you recommend these as rear speakers in a surround set up?

Asked by: sonomamike
Absolutely. Their description is "2-way 4” Surround Loudspeakers". This is exactly what they are designed for.

Asked by: ROLFB
It is always ideal to use the same model speakers for an entire system. This will provide the most balanced system. So if possible, go for L820s for your front prescence/height speakers, if not, then you should look at a speaker from the same series, lastly, from the same brand.
