Arena 170 is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected .... They were on sale for $79.95 each and free shipping ...so how could I go wrong? I did not expect much for such inexpensive speakers, but I was totally surprised after I hooked them up to my 90W Yamaha receiver and cranked it up...perfect highs and solid bass...wow and dynamic range is really good . Be patient, wait for a good price... and then strike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Valu I purchased the Arena 170 a month ago and I will spare everyone the "I can now hear things I never heard before..." review. I am by no means an audiophile in the sense that my ears are trained for critical review. Yet when I heard these and I have been playing my music constantly, I received genuine goosebumps. I purchased these for the price thinking if they weren't any good I could return them. I'm keeping these because they look sharp in my living room, sound great and they make me happy. Excellent value and I wholeheartedly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good speakers at a great price We made the purchase when these Area 170 speakers were on a steep sale and felt it was a very good decision. The set up was very simple (either direct wire or use some banana plugs) and the aesthetics are impressive. Because the black ones were out of stock, we went ahead and bought the white ones. Boy, are they clean looking! The sound is adequate because we don't have an integrated sub, and that will be added at a later time. Overall, for the price we paid ($80/ea), these can't be beaten!

Would these work well with a Marantz 2275 receiver? or any other suggestions. Thanks

Asked by: Kempton55
Hi! Unfortunately, we do not have information about the Marantz 2275 receiver. However, the Arena 170 can handle from 20-200W of power at 8 ohms. As long as the receiver is within that wattage and ohm range, it will be compatible.

How many JBL 170 speakers are needed for a home theate system

Asked by: Srini
Since the ARENA 170 is a floor-standing speaker, it normally is being used as Front Left & Right speakers. Having this said, two of this will work well paired with other Arena series speaker for your Center and Surround channel speakers.

I am looking for a good stereo set up. Not very fond of subwoofers and surround sound systems. But I am very much a audiophile when it comes to the quality a speaker can deliver. Can the Arena 170 used on stereo amp deliver a well balanced experience?

Asked by: ByronTheron
Certainly. The ARENA 170 and the whole series in general was inspired by the Master Reference Monitor series which assures that you'll get the best value from your purchase providing you clean, and powerful high and low-ends.

Can I use this speakers for marantz pm 7005 amp?

Asked by: Johnyprabha
Hi Johny, and thank you for your interest in JBL! If you look at the specifications for the amplifier and the speakers, you will find that they match each other fine, at least based on the numbers. Your amplifier is rated at 60 Watts into 8 Ohm loads, and the speakers are recommended with amplifiers between 20 and 200 Watts. When it comes to how loud you can play, whether the audio balance is to your liking etc., that is of course another matter, and almost solely determined by taste and the acoustics.
