Arena 125C is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this sound, added so much! I replaced a smaller Central Channel with this much larger speaker, and I'm really glad I did. It has a fantastic sound, and now instead of just being an extra channel that carries some vocals for the TV, it is truly a third speaker accross the front that provides as much sound as the other two (which I am replacing with matching Arena 130s... on their way, can't wait!) Vocals sound fantastic and full, and when I'm playing music, I can set it to Multi Channel and this speaker carries the sound as well as any of its teammates. Nicely built with good heft, it just barely fits in its shelf space. I recommend measuring before you buy, this is NOT a tiny speaker! (not too big!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great living room speaker Great Center Speaker The center speaker by far is the most important speaker in anyone's A/V setup. Over 70% of all speaker sound is from your center. The JBL Arena 125 is the best sounding center I have ever owned. I have matched the Arena 125 with Arena 180 tower speakers in the front and they work together nicely. The Arena 125 has two ported holes in the back of the speaker which adds a nice amount of bass to the tone. The speaker picks up sounds that I haven't heard before from TV programs that I have watched many times. You would have a difficult time finding a speaker that sounds better than this JBL for under $1,000.

I have a sony str-dh520 av receiver, and a pair of jbl es30 speakers. would the arena 125 center speaker work well in this system ? what kind of tweeter does it have?

Asked by: billy b
The perfect match for the ES30 would be the ES25C. Unfortunately, the ES25C is no longer available. The closest match is the ARENA 125. While it is not a perfect match, sonically, it is very close. The ARENA 125 has a horn loaded 1" soft dome tweeter.

I have troubles when connecting the speaker as a center system with the Pioneer VSX-831-S amplifier. I have configured the VSX-831-S amplifier as a 3 speaker system, but the JBL center does not work anymore. Can you help me? Thank you in advance.

Asked by: jrelus
I’m sorry to hear that you are having issues with the ARENA 125C. Try to swap the left and center speakers. If the center works when connected to the left speaker cable, this means the speaker is working correctly and the problem is either in the center speaker cable or the receiver. If the center doesn’t work when connected to the left speaker cable, the problem is in the center speaker. I noticed that you are in Spain. If you are still experiencing issues, please contact the store where you purchased it from and they will be able to help.

Would the Arena 125C pair well with the Loft 40s? Looking to improve dialogue quality and if not which one would you recommend?

Asked by: lostelric
Yes, ARENA 125C would pair well with your LOFT 40. If you're looking for a home theater system to better match your existing speaker, here are the general rules to picking out speakers/receivers for your system. 1. Make sure the receiver can handle the impedance/ohms of the speakers. Typical impedance and 8 ohms is almost never a problem. 2. Make sure that the speakers you choose can handle the power rating of your receiver. If you have a 100 watt per channel receiver, be sure the speakers you choose have a wattage rating of 100 watts or higher. 3. Stick with the same series of speaker, so that all of the speakers have the same sonic tonal quality, giving you a seamless transition when sound travels from one speaker to another. For example, if you select the ARENA 125C floor standing speakers for your front speakers, be sure to select the arena series center and bookshelf speakers for your rears.
