The mic is detachable. They fit completely over your ear and are the most comfortable that iv'e worn. You can have a marathon session wearing these. The sound is what you would expect from a JBL product. They sound fantastic. The cord is more than long enough. It's a very simple plug and play set up. Very lightweight and have the feel of a very durable unit. You don;t need to worry about throwing these babies across the room after a bad beat. I would highly recommend these for any gamer in your life. A lot of bang for the buck!

Rated 5 out of 5 by JBL party house from Extraordinary sounds The JBL Quantum 100 sound is really amazing while playing the game I could hear the sound effects really good and the bass and music really blended in perfect. I love the cushion on the ears and the head. It feels really good when you are wearing them and they don't feel cheap at all. I like the mic I just which it could of had a rotating feature to it but it bends to your liking. The wire is not bad but I wish it could of had a bluetooth option as well. It has a sporty look which is cool that you match up with many gaming gear looks. As always you can trust JBL for great quality products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DonH from Exactly what I was looking for. I got these for my son to use with his Playstation and he loves them. He says they're perfect for this because they're light and comfortable and the sound is HUGE! His words. I had to try them for myself. I completely agree with him. The sound is everything you'd expect from JBL. The memory foam earpads block the ambient noise without over squeezing and the detachable Mic. keeps things out of the way until you need it. When it's not in the way but don't need it you can just mute it with the push of a button. If the volume isn't right you can control that too with a rotary dial next to the mute button. I might have to get another pair for me and at this price, I think I will.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JIMSOXX from All Around Another JBL Quality Product Primarily use the Quantum 100 for Zoom meetings. The most outstanding feature, to me, is comfort. The size, shape, angle, and cushion of the ear cups makes them easy to wear with glasses on, and over-earfeel is light weight. Super lightweight and comfortable for wearing all day The microphone also sounds great and I love the fact that it is removable and has a mute button. And after a few years of using a wireless headset, it's very convenient to never worry about whether or not my headset is charged, no charging necessary. Good quality amazing sound,when talking to people it sounds like they're next to you. Microphone is very clear. ,

Is there an estimated release date on this? I really want to know because I'm deciding whether to buy a cheaper but worse one or wait a few months for this one to come out as my headphones just broke and I don't have another pair.

does this work for xbox 360

Please disregard the answer above. The controller of an Xbox 360 uses a 2.5mm jack and does not carry game audio. It's only used for game communications. Thanks!

Is the leather easy to clean and will it also start to decay over time?

Our JBL Quantum 100 are made with synthetic protein leather and can be cleaned easily with audio wipes. Like all ear pads, after extended use, they may start to show signs of wear over time.

Will the headset microphone work with an extension cable?

Yes. We recommend using a TRRS cable, which includes a microphone channel and should work as an audio extension cable for our JBL Quantum 100.
