Hi, i just got the new SB450 . how i can now that the "Harman Volume" is on or off? how i can now if thier is any firmware update update ? do you have any app that work with SB450 ?

Asked by: schnitz
You can turn Audio Feedback ON with the remote control to hear an audible indication for Harman Volume ON/OFF settings. As of the moment there is no firmware update for the SB450. You can check our website www.jbl.com from time to time to check if we are going to release a firmware update for SB450. The JBL CONNECT app will not work with this speaker, nor will it support stereo music playback when linking two SB 450s together. The JBL CONNECT feature of the SB450 will only let you wirelessly daisy chain two speakers.

Which one is the better option Thru HDMI cable or the OPTIC cable to connect to TV

Asked by: Satyender
Both HDMI and optical pass digital audio from one device to another. Both are better than analog (the red and white cables). Both can pass multi-channel audio. The biggest difference is that HDMI can pass higher-resolution audio In terms of simplicity, HDMI also passes video signals. So if you want just a single cable between two devices, HDMI would be better.

Are JBL Sound Fly speakers compatible with JBL connect technology on the JBL Cinema SB450

Asked by: Todonn
No. It is not compatible. SOUNDFLY is a plug and play speaker and has no JBL Connect feature. So connecting it with SB450 through JBL Connect is impossible.

Hello, I would like to add to my SB 450 surround. Is that possible? If yes, how to extend and use it as a single unit with the SB 450?

Asked by: imi71
Hi , Unfortunately the SB 450 can only be used as a sound bar. If you want to have a good surround sound. I would suggest using surround speakers along with a good receiver in order to experience quality surround.

My subwoofer keeps cutting out and searching for connection while streaming a movie threw my xbox one. Why is this happening is it a factory mess up?

Asked by: matthew watkins
There are a few possible causes to this. This can possibly occur due to an interference (other wireless devices or large solid objects) that may affect the signal. Another would be the distance between the devices, the maximum range for is 10m (~32ft) in an ideal set-up. On a normal home though, where interference is unavoidable, this distance decreases significantly. If these things has been eliminated and you are still having issues, please submit a case at jbl.com/contactus and our Customer Service Team will be glad to assist you.

My soundbar keeps turning off by itself while i'm watching tv. Sometimes it's 2 times within an hour, sometimes it's 10 times. I can easily switch the soundbar back on with the remote and it starts working again.. but still very irritating.

Hello, I have the Cinema SB 450 and the audio and video are out of sync. How can I fix this? Thanks

Asked by: mahvelus
I am so sorry if you are having issues with SB 450. Let us try to do this following troubleshooting steps: - Check to see if it happens with all source devices (TV, BluRay, DVD, etc.). If it only happens with one device and not the other, the issue may be with that device. - Make sure you do not have any HDMI adapters or splitters. These can cause issues with video and audio. - Please also check your TV A/V sync settings as well. If this doesn't help, please submit a case request at www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to further assist you.

I have a problem with my JBL Cinema SB450 where it keeps turning off after +\- 5 minutes when using it in AUX mode. The bluetooth setting works perfectly and does not turn off by itself. Does anyone have an idea why this is happening? Thank you :)

Asked by: Srinivasan11
Hi, usually the soundbar has a feature which it would automatically turn off after a few minutes of inactivity, Another reason aside from that would be that the source's volume is too low for the soundbar to accept it as an audio signal and it shuts off over time. A good way to prevent that would be to turn up the volume of the source to an audible level and just adjust the remaining volume on the soundbar. If this does not answer your question,Please submit a case request at https://www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service Team will be more than happy to assist you.

I have the SB450 for about 30 days now. While the virtual surround is great, I was wondering if adding 2 JBL flip 3 via JBL Connect feature will make it close to 5.1 surround. Will it work that way?

Asked by: SunnySmileShine
You would only be allowed to connect a single JBL Flip 3 using the JBL Connect feature. Therefore, Sb 450 cannot be setup as a 5.1 system.

The only way I get sound is thru the digital optical cable. If I use any HDM port we get no sound no matter what input I switch it to. What's up

Asked by: Mikey5
This can be caused by the formatting that your source device is using and the TV can accept and output. If your source device (Bluray, gaming console, DVD..) is set to output Dolby Digital/DTS, and your TV can only output two-channel digital signal (PCM) when connected via HDMI-ARC, this requires the TV to process the signal before it sends it to the SB450. Try to set your source device to send PCM signals only. This should fix your issue.

Has anyone had difficulty pairing the soundbar and subwoofer? Subwoofer is has power and is "paired" but sub does not Fire. Followed the instructions in the manual and performed factory reset, but no luck. . Anyone have any suggestions?

Asked by: S123
Please try to perform one these steps: -Move the sub closer to the SOUNDBAR for testing and see if the signal picks up. -Turn off any wireless routers or devices that run on 2.4ghz signals, such baby monitors, cordless phones, etc. and test to see if the subwoofer connects. -Test with a movie or music with a lot of action scenes or bass. If it's just dialogue, you may not hear the subwoofer. If none of these things work, please submit a case at www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to further assist you.

I get a 1 to 2 second sound delay when I first pause or play a movie. How do I get it stop that from happening? Is there an update i can use to fix it?

Asked by: Archy
This can be caused by the formatting that your source device is using and the TV can accept and output. If your source device (Bluray, gaming console, DVD..) is set to output Dolby Digital/DTS, and your TV can only output two-channel digital signal (PCM) when connected via HDMI-ARC, this requires the TV to process the signal before it sends it to the SB450. This takes enough time to cause such delay. Try to use an optical cable from the TV to the SB450 if you are using HDMI or to set your source device to send PCM signals only to the TV. This should fix your issue.

I have excellent sound coming from my TV to the sound bar Via HDMI but I cannot get a picture to show up on my TV. If I switch the source off of HDMI 1 to any other option I don't even get the sound. Any help would be appreciated!!

Asked by: Ryvendell
I am sorry to hear that you are having this issue. This may be due to your HDMI cables. All cables attached to the HDMI inputs of the SB450 needs to be High speed cables. If your cables do not meet these requirement, then you will experience unstable connection from source to your TV. Also, you can try resetting the SB450 by pressing and holding Volume+ and Virtual Surround buttons for 5 seconds while it's on. If this doesn't help, please submit a case request at www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to further assist you.

If there is no separate "center" channel speaker, where does the dialogue and center sound go? Wouldn't it sound better with a dedicated center speaker? Also, it doesn't appear to have Dolby TrueHD, DTS, etc. decoding? Thank you.

Asked by: jay271234
The SB 450 is a 2.1 speaker system that has 4 woofers and 2 tweeters on each channel. Since this is a stereo speaker, the SB450 does not have a center channel nor is it capable of being a 5.1 sound system. To compensate, SB450 can create a virtual surround sound effect using its left and right channels. The SB450 does have Dolby audio, but does not support Dolby TrueHD nor DTS.

Do the HDMI inputs pass through HDR 10bit? I have been trying to get HDR to activate on either a PS4 Pro or Nvidia Shield but despite working when directly connected to the TV, I've been unable to get it to activate through either, it only passes 8bit.
