is there no gain control when operating on bluetooth input only? My gain controls seem to do nothing when streaming from my phone.

Asked by: BOON250
The gain button is not function while using the Bluetooth option. This is wrong configuration due to that the balance with front and rear speakers is lost, or even worst if you you use the rear output top for sub-woofer.

What speakers (two 6x9 and two 6.5in) would you recommend to be used with this amp?

Asked by: rando1
I highly recommend the GTO series speakers. I have them installed in my car and they sound way above their output grade compared to other speakers I have installed in the past. My speakers are the same size as yours.

I currently have a Club 704 and it can be bridged into 2 channels. I do NOT see that as an option with the GTR 104. Is that just possibly an omission on this website?

Asked by: FiveHundred
The JBL GTR 104 is a 4 channel amplifier and it is possible to do a 2-channel bridged operation. You may connect one speaker’s (+) lead to the Front L+ terminal, and the (-) lead to the Front R- terminal. Connect the other speaker’s + lead to the Rear L+ terminal, and the - lead to the Rear R- terminal. While for Mono bridge, you have to connect the speaker’s positive (+) lead to the L+ terminal, and the negative (-) lead to the R- terminal.

I'm looking to pair my GX602 and GX963 speakers with an amp and I would like some advice as to which JBL would work best so I only have to buy 1 amp to run both sets of speakers. I was looking at your GTR-104 but my mind isn't made up yet.

Hi Is it possible to use bluetooth alone to play music out to the speakers, without connecting to the car main unit ? Can a SUB amplifier be connected directly from this if you only play music via bluetooth?

Asked by: Ricardo26
Yes, you can work with this amplifier thru BT even without a direct connection to the car main unit. The amplifier is also has a PRE OUT connection for a secondary amplifier.

Hi. Recently got GTR104 and connected a JBL 3 way power series speakers with a gauge 8 power cable. The HU is a Sony 712BT. Question is Why is the amp auto shutting off when HU is in low volume like 12 below? Need to power it on on the remote again.

Asked by: Poringdrops
Turn the input on the amp down, considerably, and turn up the volume of the head unit, to compensate, and the unit will stay on, and sound better as the signal to noise ratio will be much better.
