this speaker has the same battery as the previous model?
You mean this X2 has same exact battery that was in the Xtreme ? The same battery that lasts only a year before one or both of the cells swells up and stops holding a charge ? I would have hoped you learned from the bad history of the previous battery and improved / fixed the issues.

It will be possible to connect xtreme 2 with xtreme, to have a louder sound?
As long as you have upgraded the speaker firmware with the jbl connect app it will work with the extreme 2

The xtreme 2 has the same Rated power (2x20 W) as the first xtreme. Is the xtreme 2 (for some reason) still louder than the xtreme 1?
Hey the jbl xtreme 2 is louder than The original jbl xtreme you just have to do the firmware update

My question is quite simple, how is possible that the Xtreme 2 puts less dB's outdoor compared to the original Xtreme?, is there a firmware update to fix this?
Actually the firmware update does fix this. This is an old issue, the newer update has made it louder than the first xtreme. I have both and tested them out side by side.

Yes, But you can disable it with the JBL Connect App on Google Play...Not really if its on the App Store.

not clear about where the charging port is; is it the xtreme2 flap on the side? If so, I cannot pull the flap up. Don't want to rip it to get it open, but given what I've tried so far, not sure if there's another option
The flap opens downwards not upwards.

XTREME 1 is louder. XTREME 2 has better bass.

Yes, only if u update the Charge 3 to a new version
