Introducing the JBL Flip portable wireless stereo speaker system. Ready to play wherever you go, it’s compact and portable, but don’t let its small size fool you. With two 1-5/8-inch (40-millimeter) drivers, a built-in bass port to produce serious bass and digital signal processing (DSP) to generate room-filling audio, it delivers full-range JBL® sound with exceptional bass. This system also offers up to 5 hours of playback time from its built-in Li-ion (lithium-ion) rechargeable battery, with an LED indicator that tells you when to recharge – and when the speaker’s in Bluetooth listening or pairing mode. Through this speaker, which includes a microphone and call-answer button, you can even answer phone calls. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dependable I bought this around 4 years ago. Still works perfectly and has been subjected to water, sand, and steam. Love the sound quality and has a decent bluetooth range of around 30 feet. Battery isn't as strong as before but that is to be expected.

When i turn off the Flip1, and its plugged in the LED flashes red, ok while recharging but ths happens long after the battery is charged

The LED of the FLIP should turn off once it's fully charged. If the LED light is red while charging that is normal, but if the FLIP has been charged for a couple of hours and it remains red that is not normal. Try using a different power outlet and cable or try to wiggle the cable and make sure it's plugged in properly. How do I know when the Flip 3 has been fully charged and how long should it take?

If the FLIP 3 is charging, one of the LED lights would blink showing battery level and charging status. If the speaker is fully charged, all the lights would go off. The FLIP 3 usually needs 3 hours of charge time but it will significantly decrease when using higher amperage micro-USB charger.

Microphone doesn't work when i connect to skype business.

Please go to the setting on Skype and set the FLIP 3 as the device to use from the Microphone, Speakers, and Ringing drop-down lists. If this doesn't help, make sure you are using the latest version of Skype and you will need to ensure that the Bluetooth software and drivers on your PC are up to date. Where exactly is the microphone? I use it as a handfree in my tractor, and don't want the straps to cover the microphone. Is it on the front & middle? Right side? Top? I literally want a picture or schematic as answer. Thank you!

In the horizontal position, the microphone is located in the middle above the JBL logo. Unfortunately, engineering schematics and photos are unavailable.

My flip unit is NOT discoverable for pairing on bluetooth

Please press the round POWER Button on the FLIP again for 3 seconds, until the light in the button flashes blue/red. This will deactivate any active BT connection in the FLIP, and it should now become visible in the list of BT components on your smartphone or tablet. Pairing is now possible. If issue persist follow the procedure to perform the manufactures reset. Power ON mode, press and hold the "Volume -" and "Power On/Off" buttons simultaneously for at least 6 seconds. The unit powers OFF by itself. Now the unit is reset. If the reset will not resolves the issue, please submit a case request at www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and our Customer Service team will be glad to assist you.

I've had my JBL Flip for years now and have used it often. However, I can no longer pair to my MacBook Pro. I had been successfully pairing it for 10 months but as of about a week ago it won't. I've tried everything I can think of. Any help would be great

You can try pairing the speaker to a different source like a smart phone or tablet to isolate the issue. Try to FORGET the JBL Flip from your Mac then reboot the system twice so it will go through the entire power cycle without being connected to the speaker, then try to pair the JBL Flip again. If this doesn’t work, the last step would be performing a reset on the speaker, while the JBL Flip is ON, Press and hold “Volume –“ and “Power On/Off” for 6 seconds until it automatically turns off, once the unit is turned back on it will be on pairing mode, then try to connect it to your Mac. Should the issue persist please submit a case at http://www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and our Customer Service team will be glad to assist you.
