Great sound
I bought myself 2 jbl flip 5's and they really sound amazing. I used them indoors and even outside when having a braai and they surprised me every time, as a single speaker and even in partyboost. Therefor my 5 star rating. However I must say. Playing at 70 to 80% volume constantly made the battery last only 5 hours which is not to good for me. And even when playing 30 to 50% volume it wouldnt even last 12hrs as advertised.(your site shows more than 12hrs). And when playing in partyboost the speaker connected to your phone runs flat quicker than the other that's only connected to the main speaker. I love this speaker and will recommend it to anyone.

Packaging: The Packaging for this product is exactly what I expected- JBL takes pride in packaging all products perfectly for a great first impression.
Product: I was excited to find out that this product was made with 90% recycled plastic. I have several JBL Bluetooth speakers similar to this one but this has a slight new look, very light weight this speaker can be taken anywhere.
Experience: I read that this product had a waterproof design - and I tested it out at my pool - I was able to move it to different areas around the pool including close to the waterfall where it was constantly getting splashed with water. The batterie is long lasting.
Sound: This speaker has great crisp sound with allot of base. I recommend this speaker it is a great product!

I was incredibly impressed, and my wife was too!
I was incredibly impressed with this speaker. It was shockingly loud, with solid build quality and the packaging and design of the product being from recycled material just makes you feel good about it. I couldn’t believe the put out this speaks has. It was incredibly loud and more than loud enough to get the party rolling in my backyard and front yard depending on where we were.
What might be extremely important to note, my wife usually hates when I am auditioning something new, and she’s never impressed. This time around she was extremely happy, and pleased. She sat with me for an hour and jammed out. She wanted to chose the songs and hear how they sounded on it. She thoroughly enjoyed it.
Connectivity is very good and quick, and the battery lasts a very long time. The build quality is really impressive!!

Big sound in a little package!
I've been extremely impressed with this speaker since I got it in the mail! Compared to my JBL Charge 2 it's frequency response is significantly better, and this little thing can get LOUD. Great highs and mids, the lows are a bit lacking but that can expected since the diameter holds it back, but all in all this is a powerhouse little portable speaker. We take it on hikes, I hang it off my backpack from it's convenient little strap, and it fills the forest with sound. Love that it's water proof as well, perfect to take on the river or the creek. Absolutely blown away! My new favorite portable for sure!

Amazing sound in a convenient package!
I'm a sucker for cool new speakers so when I saw this I had to give it a shot. It's all about the sound first for me and looks second but this one nails both. Sound is great in a small package and I love the bass "ports" on each end that really help in the bass department. The speakers feels solidly built with some nice weight to it and I got the Forest green version to give me a break from the norm. Being Waterproof also makes all the difference in the world because we are a family of tubers and on our next trip down the Guadalupe this will be our speaker of choice! Another nice speaker from JBL!

Is the eco version less durable because its made from recycled plastics? and are there any other differences between the jbl flip 5 and the jbl flip 5 eco version besides the fact eco is recycled plastic?
Our JBL Flip 5 Eco edition is as durable as the Flip 5. It doesn't have other differences aside from the plastic material used.

Will these going on sail in Holland? Customerservice here don't know nothing about these 2 eco models. Maybe someone here at customerservice US knows?

Will this connect to Alexa?
Our JBL Flip 5 doesn't have Alexa or Google Assistant integration and it cannot support voice commands as it does't have a microphone.

does the flip 4 eco work with a television
Our JBL Flip 5 Eco edition is designed to be used for connecting with your mobile phones, tablets, and laptops for streaming audio. You may encounter audio-video delays when you'll be using it to connect with your TV via Bluetooth since these earbuds don't have aptX HD low latency codec.

I have a JBL flip 3 it's older & I just got a JBL flip 5 Eco Edition & I cant get them to pair, any suggestions??
Our JBL Flip 3 and JBL Flip 5 can't pair due to different connectivity features.

Will the JBL flip 5 pair with a GPX personal CD player - Model PCB319B? I can get the CD player to pair with a Bose speaker (soundlink Resolve) but not the JBL flip 5.
Our Flip 5 Eco edition is designed to pair directly with mobile phones, tablets, and laptops. You can check out our Flip 4 and Charge 4 as they have an AUX input that you can connect to your CD Player.

Yes it will, you can do so through the JBL Connect App.

How do I pry open the cover that protects the charging port on the Flip Essential? There is ZERO reference to this in the user guide. This is just bad documentation.

The charging port is covered, because of water protection. Just take something firm and open it carefully.
