Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great portable sound I love this speaker. 1st off; GREAT RICH SOUND. Doesn't sound tinny or like it's vibrating or working hard . Button's are challanging to find when I use it while riding my bike. My full charge light only worked once, so I hope I'm not overcharging it. I don't use it for more than an hour or two at a time, so it stays plenty charged for me and I would guess it works the 5 hours charged that it claims. The sound qualify doesn't diminish at the end of the charge; it just goes from great full sound to off. I love this portable light speaker that provides great sound. Thanks JBL !!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing sound!! I bought this a few days ago on sale to use with a netbook I have. I figured it would be a little better than the netbooks built in speakers which are hard to hear sometimes. Wrong! It's way better! It sounds incredible for such a tiny thing. It actually has some clear bass which I didn't think was possible for such a small size and from one speaker. My only complaint is that sometimes it is hard to know if it is charging and to connect it to bluetooth (i have to restart netbook) but I can usually get it to work properly. Again, the sound is very surprising and I will be checking out other JBL products if they are anything like this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love! Ive had my JBL Clip for over a year now, love the quality of sound that it puts out for such a small speaker. Use it in my kitchen where I had an ihome type boom box and it put out so much more sound in a much clearer quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from battery issue i have the same issue as most of the reviews, good thing i kept my receipt. Battery won't charge, red light never go blue no matter how long i keep charging. This is the second one i exchange, now before give up i contacted support and waiting on their response to see if i should try the third time charmer lol. i hate to leave a bad review. the sound is good for it's size, it is conveniently portable, easy to use and to top it off splash poof (did not have the time to test that feature),price is good. But all the pros without a battery to play it becomes worthless. Hope they can fix the issue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE - convenient LOVE this speaker so much! I've had mine for about a year. It is so easy to grab and I take it with me everywhere. The sound quality is great and it gets pretty loud for such a small speaker.

Product Q&A

JBL clip won't charge or hold a charge. Light never turns blue. How do I know if this is defective or if I am not charging device properly?

Asked by: judy222
It will never turn blue coz the light shuts down when it's fully charged to avoid overcharging.

Can this be paired with another jbl speaker? for instance the jbl charge 3?

Asked by: Blakay
Hi! As of right now, the Charge 3 is not capable of pairing with the Boombox. The Charge 3 currently has Connect, and the Boombox has Connect+. For the update, there are plans for the firmware upgrade for the Charge 3 to have Connect+, but there is no estimated date on when it will be completed.

I want to use this mainly as a speakerphone. It successfully paired and works fine when cell rings. However it will not stay on, and it is not helpful to have to turn it on and wait for it to synch every time the phone rings. Shouldnt it stay on?_

Asked by: Mornrill
Hello, Thank you for the inquiry. This product has a power save feature. When the unit does not detect an audio signal it turns off. This is a fixed feature and cannot be changed. Best Regards.

I'm thinking of getting a jbl clip but ive been reading that the battery life dosent last long. How long can you use it before you have to charge it again?

Asked by: packattck
The CLIP + supports up to 5 hours of playtime when fully charged. This would be dependent on the volume level that you are playing on, and the type of audio you are streaming. The unit also charges to full from flat for 2 hrs @ 0.5A using the included micro-USB cable.

Asked by: OhMeOhMy
Hello, Thank you for the inquiry. No. The JBL Clip+ may only be charged using a micro usb cable connected to a computer usb or power adapter usb connection. Best Regards.

I have the JBL+ Clip, and for some reason on a bluetooth connection, it goes off after a while, like an automatic standby. The device is right next to the speaker, so the connection should be fine. Is this normal, and is there a way of switching that off?

Asked by: Christo
With some phones, such as iPhones and some Android models, volume is synchronized while Bluetooth is used, and levels below volume setting 4 (tested with iPhone 6) will cause the CLIP+ to enter standby after some minutes. If you want to play softer while still using your iPhone as a source, please change to cabled connection from the headphone output to the AUX input of CLIP+. This will make it possible for you to set the CLIP+'s volume at its minimum step, and then control total level on the telephone. If source level from the telephone is set extremely low, the CLIP+ will go into standby again, because it needs a certain level to keep playing. Alternatively, use a phone which does not synchronize volume as source. Many Android phones do not synchronize volume, so by using such a phone, you can adjust CLIP+ to its lowest level, adjusting total level independently, even via Bluetooth. This will usually result in music volume at the desired level.

How much Bluetooth range am I supposed to get with my jbl clip +? I only have about 1 1/2 ft.

Asked by: Mark 361
Hello, Thank you for the inquiry. The range is approximately 30 feet. Please test with multiple source devices and ensure the issue is not caused due to wireless interference. Best Regards.
