Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE - convenient LOVE this speaker so much! I've had mine for about a year. It is so easy to grab and I take it with me everywhere. The sound quality is great and it gets pretty loud for such a small speaker.

JBL clip won't charge or hold a charge. Light never turns blue. How do I know if this is defective or if I am not charging device properly?

Asked by: judy222
The unit actually turns on when charging but then stays on after you disconnect the charger. So you think you charged it and walk away, but it's still turned on and draining. This may have been a design decision, or a flaw. It was not mentioned in the manual. To work around it, after charging turn the unit on then back off. In all other respects it is a fantastic little speaker. Hope this helps!

Can this be paired with another jbl speaker? for instance the jbl charge 3?

Asked by: Blakay
Hi! The JBL Clip+ cannot be paired with a different speaker, but it does have the Daisy Chain feature which would allow the Clip+ to pair with another Clip+ using the 3.5mm cable that is part of the speaker.

I want to use this mainly as a speakerphone. It successfully paired and works fine when cell rings. However it will not stay on, and it is not helpful to have to turn it on and wait for it to synch every time the phone rings. Shouldnt it stay on?_

Asked by: Mornrill
Hello, Thank you for the inquiry. This product has a power save feature. When the unit does not detect an audio signal it turns off. This is a fixed feature and cannot be changed. Best Regards.

I'm thinking of getting a jbl clip but ive been reading that the battery life dosent last long. How long can you use it before you have to charge it again?

Asked by: packattck
The CLIP + supports up to 5 hours of playtime when fully charged. This would be dependent on the volume level that you are playing on, and the type of audio you are streaming. The unit also charges to full from flat for 2 hrs @ 0.5A using the included micro-USB cable.

Does the 3.5mm audio cable keep the speaker charged when attached to the audio jack in the phone?

Asked by: OhMeOhMy
Hello, Thank you for the inquiry. No. The JBL Clip+ may only be charged using a micro usb cable connected to a computer usb or power adapter usb connection. Best Regards.

I have the JBL+ Clip, and for some reason on a bluetooth connection, it goes off after a while, like an automatic standby. The device is right next to the speaker, so the connection should be fine. Is this normal, and is there a way of switching that off?

Asked by: Christo
With some phones, such as iPhones and some Android models, volume is synchronized while Bluetooth is used, and levels below volume setting 4 (tested with iPhone 6) will cause the CLIP+ to enter standby after some minutes. If you want to play softer while still using your iPhone as a source, please change to cabled connection from the headphone output to the AUX input of CLIP+. This will make it possible for you to set the CLIP+'s volume at its minimum step, and then control total level on the telephone. If source level from the telephone is set extremely low, the CLIP+ will go into standby again, because it needs a certain level to keep playing. Alternatively, use a phone which does not synchronize volume as source. Many Android phones do not synchronize volume, so by using such a phone, you can adjust CLIP+ to its lowest level, adjusting total level independently, even via Bluetooth. This will usually result in music volume at the desired level.
