Description

The standing ovation your floor’s been waiting for

One legacy of relentless innovation – with dual 6.5” drivers We knew it was time again for us to redefine the future of sound. That’s why we designed a new floorstanding loudspeaker that reaches far and above what other companies can even fathom: our new JBL® Studio 280 dual 3-way floorstanding loudspeaker. As a signature part of the new 10-piece JBL Studio 2 loudspeaker series, the Studio 280 was built to take legacy sound and forward-thinking technology up to unrivaled heights. Tested relentlessly in the world’s most advanced sound research lab – our own – as well as pitted against competitors in real world comparative listening studies, the Studio 280 does just that. Its dual 6.5” PolyPlas midrange drivers deliver twice the signature potency and polish of JBL legacy, and a rear-firing Slipstream bass port envelops your senses in tight, accurate bass. But going farther than anyone else isn’t far enough at JBL. Inspired by our own work in developing the world’s most legendary recording studios, we invested our Studio 280 with the kind of tech that makes for true cinema-grade listening. We made improvements like a 1” CMMD® Lite high-frequency driver that ensures low-distortion, and a High Definition Imaging (HDI) waveguide design that offers pinpoint sound imaging and firm natural balance. We braced the loudspeaker’s interior from edge-to-edge in order to minimize cabinet flexing, and eliminate bass distortion. Then we capped it with seductive 21st century features like gloss black paneling, soft rounded edges, and your choice of either Black or Espresso woodgrain finish. For those able to see and hear the truth, we’re confident you’ll know it – full volume – at first look and first listen.

I have JBL studio 280 two pairs speakers. One pair studio 280 for front speaker and second pair studio 280 for surround speakers.  I have an idea to buy another pair JBL studio 280 for back surround, Is it a good idea or it's better to set up studio 220

Asked by: Duka
Hello. Both the JBL Studio 280 and Studio 220 would sound great as a rear surround speaker. I would say, since you already have two sets of Studio 280, another pair of it would look great aesthetically. Now, the Studio 220 would work more than sufficiently for the same purpose, since rear speakers does not output audio most of the time on a surround system.

I have 280 floorstanding, 220 Bookshelf, 225C and 250P. I would have preferred if the center speaker was the 235C but it is not available here in Egypt. I wanted a better center and saw Wharfedale diamond 9.CM. Will it work well with the 280 fronts?

Asked by: r9800pro

Which Harman Kardon AVR is recommended for two Studio 280?

Asked by: Carlos Mesa
Any of our Harman Kardon AVR's would work with the STUDIO 280 as they would not exceed the rated power handling of the speakers which is at 200W(RMS). Any AVR/Amp that has a rated output of 200W(RMS) or below would work with the speaker.

Hi Thank you for the question Harman/Kardon Doesn't have an AV-receiver which supports Dolby Atmos or wi-fi. and the difference between JBL Studio 270/280 is that the 280 has two 6,5" bass drivers as the 270 only has one.
