Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product and great product support dept. The headphones are comfortable and they were not as expensive as others at the time i purchased these. My puppy ate the cables that came with them and I wasted my time trying to order them on many web sites that told me it was what i needed but when they came they were not. Found JBL.com and they were very helpful and the correct cables i need will be delivered asap. They were awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and good sound quality After ordering, I was worried that on-year would be uncomfortable. But it was an unnecessary worry. The fit of this headphone was very comfortable. Easy pairing and well tuned sound were the best for outdoor use. This headphone gave me confidence in JBL's products.

My headphones are SUPER tight on my head to the point that my ears feel sore and bruised and I have to take breaks using them to avoid headaches. Anyone else having this issue?

Asked by: SquirrelPLZ
Yes, I have the same issue.  Is there a way to make them not so tight?

I have a pair of everest 300 headphones and the audio quality on anything coming from my computer on windows 10 is terrible. through bluetooth 4 dongle. It sounds distorted, low bit rate, delayed and time stretched. There is no software update on this site

Asked by: PaulJones
After updating the firmware it partially resolved the issue. However, the problem is with Bluetooth and the microphone. If I enable the headphones as the playback device in the windows audio settings and remove the microphone from the recording devices in windows, then when I initially pair the device on start up the audio in all areas of windows works perfectly.. However if I enable the microphone as a recording option at any point, then the audio quality drops to sub par. Something like 64kbps mp3 or worse. due to time stretching, crackling and noise artefacts. Clearly Bluetooth cannot handle bi directional streaming of audio from and to the device in high quality, so if the microphone is on or used it reduces any possibility of good audio quality. This means Bluetooth on windows simply can not handle the devices intention.I haven't tried this on Android . Maybe someone else outside the company an confirm if this works properly on Android or in windows 10. This is not the entire problem solved though, if for any reason the device turns itself off due to inactivity, then switching the device back on to pair it with windows causes the audio to go into low quality. This shouldn't happen as the device is already paired, the microphone is disabled and the headphones are being used in a manner that is correct. Why this happens is beyond my understanding and is very annoying, this means I have to restart the computer to get good quality sound if I want to use the headphones to listen to something. Clearly this is a major problem. Yet still this is not the entire problems. If there is another playback device enabled, for example in my case a focusrite USB device was enabled as an alternative playback device. I have to disable and remove that as a playback option from the windows playback list or else when I start up, even if the headphones are set as default playback device, the audio will be sub par.. I can however use the focusite as the recording device and use my choice of microphone into the USB pre amp device, bypassing the JBL mic on the headset. SO all in all this is very unusual TOO LONG DIDN'T READ VERSION: 1; JBL as single playback device, no other device enabled in playback list, 2: JBL disabled in recording devices, any other device can be used as the recording input device. And the audio is fine Any other variation from this and the device works sub par. 2: Switching the device off when windows is on and then switching it back on creates sub par audio once again. JBL you need to look into this as it's not good for the product. In fact I might be returning it as I can't be wasting time rebooting windows every ten minutes when the device turns off. And having no other audio output options for my audio programs on windows is yet another reason I am bothered by the product.

My Everest 300 sounds considerably softer in volume compared to the stock earphones i got with my phone (only when connected to apple devicesboth wired and bluetooth connections). Is there a problem with my earphones?

Asked by: samus1218
Also... Impedance for lighter headphones use to be lower so it may seem louder (or better)

I would like to download the firmware update for the Everest 300 (not Elite). Multiple posts state that one is available which eliminates the delay issue, but the link seems to be gone.

Asked by: brwone
The cost of these headphones is why it is inexcusable for you to not have firmware readily available for such a simple fix... Either step up and perform within the price range you’ve placed yourself or step down. No time for nonexistent support, any other company would have catered to my needs and certainly wouldn’t have lag issues with BT v4.0+.

Where is the firmware to download?

Asked by: tarozz
Any update yet? I just got these and have heard that a firmware update will fix the terrible audio lag on Bluetooth otherwise they're absolute junk to me and around 50% of the people who bought them because video is going mostly to Bluetooth with smart TVs these days.

Is this different from the Everest ELITE 300?

Asked by: samirai9
Hi. Yes, the Elite 300 (and 700) are completely different from the Everest versions. The only similarities are the physical construction and the fact that they are wireless. Apart from that, the Elites are active noise-cancelling headphones, and they can be controlled from the My JBL Headphone app, which the "normal" Everests cannot. This permits control of frequency response via an equalizer, and gradual blending in of surrounding noise with the Awareness system, for each ear individually. Also, it permits online updating. The normal Everests feature ShareMe 2.0, where two headphones can be synchronized. The Elite models do not have this feature. Please note that only the Elite 700 is sold in Europe, out of the three models in the Elite series. The 100 and the 300 are sold in the USA. The Everests are all sold everywhere.
