Rated 5 out of 5 by from My First Bluetooth Buds! I just started running again as part of a weight loss effort. I did my first run with ear buds plugged into my phone and it sucked. I couldn't wait to try some bluetooth ear buds. I saw these at the Target and they were the most reasonably priced ones there. Not cheap, but not outrageously expensive. Also, so many other BT buds looked HUGE-but these 500's looked like regular ear buds. I took them home, charged them up, and paired them up with my phone. They sound great! I wish that they were a little bit louder, but as they are, they're certainly loud enough! I used them on a flight and they blocked all the plane noise out and all I heard was my music. Cool! I am really quite pleased with my purchase! JBL and Harman (What? No more Karden?) are arguably the best names in audio and they certainly showed it with these ear buds. I'm glad to have purchased them! Thanks for reading.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for the price!! I have large ear openings and headphones always fall out. I happened to see these at Target and decided to give them a shot. The sound is decent, they are not $200 earphones, but there is a little bass, not all treble. Best of all they stay put, I don't mess with them at all during my hiit, cardio and weight training. I think you have to have a certain type of ear for these to work, and I guess mine are just right!!! Love them!!!! I don't think these are good for small ears.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing headphones for $50...just plain amazing 9/10 - Overall Rating 8.8/10 - Sound Quality 11/10 - In Ear Fit and Staying in Place (Unbelievable!) 10/10 - Overall Product Weight and Ergonomics (They're light and feel well built) I'm a bit of an audophile and always have been so I was a little nervous about spending only $50 on a pair of headphones but MAN was I wrong, amazing deal, I'd buy these again without a doubt. I don't ever leave reviews but since these have no reviews on JBL's site I had to let people know. Absolutely amazing headphones for $50, I have never ever heard a pair of headphones that sound this good for this price point. I have small ears and have ALWAYS had a problem finding headphones that stay in my ears even with light activity such as casual walking, I'm always readjusting other earphones because as soon as they slip a little all of the sound quality vanishes and I have to put them back in my ears. When I saw these were made for people with smaller ears I had to give them a shot. Bluetooth works flawlessly so far, easy pairing. Sound quality is a 8.8/10. They aren't $200 headphones so no, they aren't a 10/10 on sound quality but the sound is round and extremely solid, like one expects from JBL products. I've always loved JBL but occasionally I buy a product of theirs I don't love for some reason OTHER than sound quality and that's not the case with these. These sound is great, good bass, good mids and good highs but don't expect the sound quality to blow you away, it's great sound, but not amazing. I would have been totally happy paying $80 for these, no doubt about it. Unfortunately this genius design (Twist & Lock or whatever they call it) for keeping your earphones in place isn't available on a "higher quality" earphone set that JBL offers so I was willing to buy the less expensive ones. I'm a big proponent of spending the money the first time when you buy something like this and was expecting to spend roughly $125 - $175 for a great pair that would last me a number of years but I could not be happier. PLUS they're only $50 bucks so I won't be upset if I ruin them somehow, win win! Buy these headphones, I promise you'll be happy with them.

My headphones had been working great for the past two months, but today will not connect with either of my devices. Is there a hard reset that I can do?

I had the same thing happen today. No longer pairing with my devices. It seems easy to re-pair it with a second device, but how about the "original" pairing?

I charge my inspire 500 earbuds this afternoon for a run. They were fully charged and connect to my phone but no sound, only ringing through the ear pieces. Paired and connect with multiple devices, but no sound. Very frustrating, only a few weeks old.

I have literally had these for less than a day and they won't turn on. They were charging and i pulled the cable out of my computer and into the wall. When i pluged them in the L.E.D did not light up. Tried to turn them on and they don't work.

I’m sorry to hear that you are having issues with the INSPIRE 500. The INSPIRE 500 can be used upon purchase since it carries a factory charge. Press and hold the power button for 2 seconds to turn ON the unit. It may also be an issue with the charging cable. Please try using a similar charging cable to isolate the issue. You mentioned that you had this for less than a day. If you are still experiencing issues, kindly contact the store where you purchased it from and they will be able to help.

Just got a Inspire 500 - you supply a charging USB cable but no charger so not sure what to use to charge the device. The user manual sucks Anyone there try to read it? You should do a focus group and just hand them the quickstart guide and the device

You can connect your charging cable to virtually ANY USB port and it will charge your INSPIRE 500 headphones. Keep in mind, chargers with a higher amperage (current) rating will charge your headphones faster.

My headphones were working fine today. I turned them off, as per instructions, but since then they seem to be unresponsive: no sound, and nothing from the LED no matter what I do. Even when plugging them in to charge the LED does nothing.

What you are experiencing is not normal. To determine where the problem is, please try a different USB charging cable and plug it in at an alternate power source. somewhat frustrated with this product.... Suddenly I am unable to turn off or power down these headphones. Pressing the power button for 2 secs is not working cannot get the earphones to go into pairing mode... what more can I do?

I’m sorry to hear that you are having issues with the INSPIRE 500. Please drain the battery of the INSPIRE 500 then try re-charging the unit. Once charged, you can try to pair the earphones with your device. Turn the headphones ON and press and hold the power button for 3-5 seconds in order for the headphones to start searching for a different device. The headphones should appear on your discoverable devices within a few seconds. You should hear the audible voice stating, “powering on….looking for device” You will see the Bluetooth light alternate between red and blue when it is in pairing mode. Once connected the Bluetooth will change to a flashing LED light and the audible voice will state, “connected”. If you are still experiencing issues, please submit a case at www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and our Customer Service team will be glad to assist you.

Which audio codecs does the Inspire 500 support (e.g. SBC, APT-X, AAC) ?

The INSPIRE 500 supports the most widely accepted codec, SBC. If the AAC file can be played via the source, then it will come out of the headset when connected. Unfortunately, aptX is not supported.
