Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! I bought my ES250P in April and I love it. It's awesome! The low level bass is fantastic. I've been a fan of JBL for over a decade and they didn't disappoint with this powered subwoofer. To top it all off, I purchased mine, new, for 1/3 of the original price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Now This is What I Call A Subwooffer! I did not pay the full price for this I got a special on it and am I glad I purchased it! This this controls like a Sub should not like some that are either all BOOMING at every low note and nothing else with this one you have a much finer control with it to be able to adjust the right amount bass without drowning out all the mids and Hi notes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should've bought sooner! Well after my 1st JBL sub blew after 10+ years of high use and probably my neglect on our last party, had to upgrade. I bought another brand because it was cheaper and immediately took it back for lack of performance. Ended up returning to JBL products because of the past durability, construction and sound. Glad I did, awesome sound, Performance and construction....good buy on this one. Thanks again JBL for a good product, keep up the good work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing sound, great technology Worth it! I'm still breaking it in. So far so good. I will say this JBL. and the Harmon Kardon brand is by far one of the best in the world. I've invested quit a bit of $$$$$ in both of my surround systems. Bedroom and living room sound fantastic. Sound is one of our 5 senses, think about that. Why not truly hear what was meant to be heard. From the smallest instrument to a loud car crash in a movie. You can hear everything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most powerful impressive sngle sub I've ever heard Ok, This monster delivers tight, accurate bass that you would typically expect from a sealed enclosure. However, this speaker and sealed enclosure are engineered perfectly to perform with superb definition that other speaker-enclosure combinations typically don't have unless that enclosure was custom built exactly to the manufacturer's specifications. Sometimes enclosures are, and sometimes they are only approximate to the manufacturer's specifications. This sealed 12" is PERFECTION. Of course, sealed enclosures require more power than ported, so the extra power is provided with the internal amp calibrated for this specific speaker. The consumer doesn't have to worry about anything but adjusting the crossover and volume to balance with the rest of his/her system. I cannot turn this monster up too loud, for the windows will rattle, and the whole condominium complex will shake! Trying not to aggravate the neighbors too much. You will not be disappointed with the performance of this powered sub. I am a certified, degreed Audio Engineer and I recommend this sub to anybody. It will deliver more than your home can handle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Goes Low and Gets the Notes Right I bought this a week ago to move up from a musical/home theater 8" sub that I thought was a sub...until now. It was a toy compared to this. My memories of the last big M&K sub I had 30 years ago have faded after listening to what JBL can do with subs today! I have paired it with vintage Hales Concept 3 speakers and a JBL Studio 235C Center Channel which are honestly low in their own right. I had to reverse the polarity for the best response in my room and also set the volume to no more than 1/3 max to keep things in perspective sonically. The ES250P almost stopped my heart when I put on Tool and Perfect Circle which have honest pounding sub-bass of the good old fashioned kind and are not movie-related. Musica Urbana Hispanic hip hop with nice deep base on Time Warner Cable (now Charter) plays well too as I listen to a diverse mix of stuff when the mood strikes. Music first, movies later but I can't imagine this sub would disappoint on any sound track. I bought this for the listed frequency response, amp power/thermal control, floor-coupled port location and overall design/materials I am already familiar with. I do not like staring at lights on the front cabinet or ugly square black cubes. JBL has an understated style that I can appreciate along with most of their line. Just hear it but be careful not to overdrive it as it started to smell before I turned it down and cognizant of reported amp issues of the past. I can't imagine anyone needing more volume than this baby can deliver within its realistic operating limits. It is also only 12" so the bottom-most foundation shaking octaves still role off a bit but for the price, appearance and authentic ability to be musically defined and not a one note wonder I give it 5 stars.

Can you use this subwoofer with the JBL SB350 soundbar ?

Asked by: Mrlar007
This is a powered subwoofer, and must be connected to the subwoofer line output of a receiver/amplifier, wich SB350 doesn't have, using RCA cable and plugged into the wall outlet in order to function. So no, the ES250P is not compatible with SB350.

After months of searching for a suitable Bi-ampable speaker, I decided to go with the BIC-EV15 floorstanding speakers. These speakers have a frequency response of 24Hz- 20KHz and are power rated at 225 Watts RMS and 430 Watts peak. Considering JBL Sub. ?

Asked by: Gregg765
If you are looking for a Sub that would match the speakers that you currem=ntly have right now, you would need to consider the Amplifier/Receiver that you are going to connect the Sub into. The power handling of our Subwoofers won't matter as long as the amplifiers power output does not exceed the power handling of the speakers/subwoofers. To give you an example, a 7.2 channel receiver with 125W per channel power output can drive/power a speaker/subwoofer with 125W-500W power handling. However, the same receiver can still power a speaker/subwoofer with 120W and below power handling but with a high risk of speaker blow out.

If i connect this sub direct to my television , will it work ?

Asked by: Jordi
Yes, theoretically, if your TV has an analog line level audio output, you can connect it to the line level input on the ES250P and it will work. However, there is a lot more to it than that. First, most people are connecting their sources (cable box, sat box, dvd player, etc.) directly to their TV using digital connections (HDMI). And many TV's are not able to convert that digital signal over to the analog output on the TV. So while you might be able to connect the sub to the analog output on your TV, it might not work as you would expect. You will have to check with your TV manufacturer to find out for sure. Also, a sub like this will be a bit of overkill. The TV probably puts out 5-15 watts of sound into really small speakers. This sub offers as much as 400 watts. A smaller powered sub would probably be more than enough for this type of setup. But again, yes, theoretically, it can and will work.

Can you play music of the speaker

Asked by: Jbl is best
This is strictly a powered subwoofer, providing ONLY subsonic deep bass audio. It cannot be used on its own. It must be connected to an audio receiver with speakers. It will enhance the existing system and extend the bass response.

Can you connect your phone to bluetooth and play music?

This is strictly a powered sub and must be connected to an existing stereo or surround sound system including a receiver and speakers. You cannot pair a device directly to this sub.

how is this connected to speakers or other devices?  Is it an RMS input, xlr input, quarter inch input or 8th inch input?

Asked by: apc123
This is a home audio powered subwoofer, so it uses the home audio standard of RCA line level audio inputs. You would not connect this to other speakers. It would be connected to the sub or line output on a stereo or surround sound audio receiver.
