Bluetooth-enabled soundbar with a powerful, 200-watt wireless subwoofer.

The difference between merely watching a movie at home and being fully immersed in a cinema experience is JBL® sound. The JBL Cinema SB400 includes a two-channel soundbar for high-definition audio that complements your high-def video. It features four 2-1/4-inch (57-millimeter) cone woofers, two 1-inch (25-millimeter) dome tweeters, an amplifier that offers up to 120 watts of power, three HDMI® inputs (for multiple sources such as your cable box, DVD player, videogame console and computer), integrated Bluetooth® technology (ideal for streaming music from digital devices), dual-position equalization (which optimizes sound based on the soundbar’s location) and HARMAN Display Surround technology (which creates a surround-sound experience from only two channels). And for people who want more rumble and realism, the SB400 includes a separate, 200-watt, 8-inch (400-millimeter) wireless subwoofer with bass-boost functionality, which lets you tailor low-frequency response. Designed to complement flat-panel TVs that are 46 inches (1.168 meters) and larger, the glossy Cinema SB400 is ready to work with any type of A/V format and deliver the great JBL sound that you’ve come to love – and look great doing so.

Cinema SB400 is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 89.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from it's simply awesome My house is small and my surround system was finely giving me trouble after all these years so I needed to do something. I decided to give this soundbar and sub a try despite some not so great reviews. I started off having some issues with my wifi once I hooked everything up and realized I was running too may things on a 2.4 frequency but since I have a duel frequency router, I moved everything I could to the 5 and no more issues. The sound is crisp and clear and I have no problems with the connection to the sub but believe I would have if I kept everything on 2.4. I'm thrilled that it has Bluetooth and so many HDMI connections so I have more options. JBL has never let me down in quality and value and this soundbar is no exception. Over all, just a few adjustments for me and my world is full of ear pleasing sound and worth every bit of the effort and purchase price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HIGH 5, JBL, I purchased this unit last year in November, it was a recertified product which is sent back to the factory, for cleaning and retested, the price was great, I was happy to finally get my SB400, after many trips to the store, nothing compares to the product, xcellent bass, thundering sound, looks great on the wall, good quality, set up was easy, once the sound bar is dialed in with the sub.It is awesome. I recommend all jbl products.

Why does the sound bar keep raising all by itself?

Asked by: Dolphin777
I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your SB400. You may try using a different source and see if it happens to all. If this cannot be prevented, you may try to reset the SB400. While in In standby mode - Press "Volume-" (minus) button and "Surround mode" button simultaneously for approx 3 seconds - soundbar turns on - soundbar is reset. It is important not to press too hard on the Volume- button, because that will also press down the Volume+ end of the button, and the reset will not work then. If you press too hard, two clicks should be felt or heard, indicating that this is wrong. . If you are still having a problem with your SB400, please do not hesitate to submit a case at www.jbl.com/contactus and our Customer Service Team will be more than happy to assist you.

My Bluetooth is not working  The auxiliary to the Tv is hooked up and works fine I have volume on tv.  But nothing on Bluetooth I've used it before but now won't sync to Bluetooth I've erased all other Bluetooths and made sure no other devices are on

Asked by: Gusm
What you are experiencing is not normal. First thing we should try is to un-pair your source from the SB400 by deleting the SB400 from your Bluetooth devices list. After doing so, try pairing with the SB400 again by pressing the Bluetooth button on the soundbar and selecting the SB400 on your phone. If this does not resolve the issue, please reset the SB400. In standby mode - Press "Volume-" (minus) button and "Surround mode" button simultaneously for approx 3 seconds - soundbar turns on - soundbar is reset. Do the same procedure to re-pair and see if the problem persists. It is important not to press too hard on the Volume- button, because that will also press down the Volume+ end of the button, and the reset will not work then. If you press too hard, two clicks should be felt or heard, indicating that this is wrong. If none of these things work, please submit a request at www.jbl.com/contactus and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to further assist you.

When I change the channel on my TV the sound dissappears! In order to get it back I haves to turn the soundbar off/on and it will come back on! What's the problem here? After it was installed I DID move the subwoofer (unplugged) to another area.

I have a Cinema SB400 that is about 3 yrs old and does not produce any sound. Are there any fuses I should replace? Should I replace the fiber optic cable? Should I use the hook up without the fiber optic cable?

Asked by: Donn
We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your SB400. There are a few things to do or check so that we can isolate your issue - 1 - That all cables are snugly connected. 2 - That the TV is set to use external speakers. 3 - That the SB400 is on the correct source selection. If you are still having issues, please submit a case at jbl.com/contactus and our Customer Service Team will be glad to assist you.

I am really missing a button on the remote to select a bluetooth source. 1. Is there another way to let the soundbar switch to bluetooth, without having to walk over to the sounbar? 2. Could I program a universal remote to select a bluetooth source?

Asked by: Dwight
Easy fix for this is turn the sb400 off (via remote) and pair the sb400 with your blietooth device (while unit is off). The sb400 should come on automatically.

Hi guys, Can the SB400 be bluetooth paired to a windows 7 laptop? I have tried but suspect there is no driver....Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Asked by: BBking
It is possible that your laptop simply does not have the necessary/updated drivers to stream audio via Bluetooth. The SB400 does not require any specific drivers. It utilizes the standard Bluetooth Stereo Audio drivers available in most laptops. There are two different Bluetooth protocols, one for Headset Audio used for talking on the telephone, and the other for high quality stereo audio listening. Being that the SB400 is a speaker; your computer must connect to the SB400 using the Stereo Audio protocol. Your best bet is to go into your control panel and find the Bluetooth setup. This setup usually provides a setup wizard and will take you through the steps to install the drivers needed for Stereo Audio.
