Bluetooth-enabled soundbar with a powerful, 200-watt wireless subwoofer.

The difference between merely watching a movie at home and being fully immersed in a cinema experience is JBL® sound. The JBL Cinema SB400 includes a two-channel soundbar for high-definition audio that complements your high-def video. It features four 2-1/4-inch (57-millimeter) cone woofers, two 1-inch (25-millimeter) dome tweeters, an amplifier that offers up to 120 watts of power, three HDMI® inputs (for multiple sources such as your cable box, DVD player, videogame console and computer), integrated Bluetooth® technology (ideal for streaming music from digital devices), dual-position equalization (which optimizes sound based on the soundbar’s location) and HARMAN Display Surround technology (which creates a surround-sound experience from only two channels). And for people who want more rumble and realism, the SB400 includes a separate, 200-watt, 8-inch (400-millimeter) wireless subwoofer with bass-boost functionality, which lets you tailor low-frequency response. Designed to complement flat-panel TVs that are 46 inches (1.168 meters) and larger, the glossy Cinema SB400 is ready to work with any type of A/V format and deliver the great JBL sound that you’ve come to love – and look great doing so.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound and everything !! I bought this on Black Friday and this speakers is so good but the only bad thing with jbl is that they don't have surrounding speakers I wish they did unless I don't know.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awsome Sound Bar and Subwoofer! I bought this about 6 months ago and compared to my old sorround sound system that i had its so much cleaner and the bass is ridiculous and being bluetooth is so awsome and not having wires run through my walls and having to make holes. Its so easy to setup to your tv or even if your just using it in the garage to play misic!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Sound I am enjoying putting this system on when I watch movies or play games. My daughter is able to enjoy it as well as it doesn't blast her out of the room but it makes her feel like she's at the theater

Rated 5 out of 5 by from it's simply awesome My house is small and my surround system was finely giving me trouble after all these years so I needed to do something. I decided to give this soundbar and sub a try despite some not so great reviews. I started off having some issues with my wifi once I hooked everything up and realized I was running too may things on a 2.4 frequency but since I have a duel frequency router, I moved everything I could to the 5 and no more issues. The sound is crisp and clear and I have no problems with the connection to the sub but believe I would have if I kept everything on 2.4. I'm thrilled that it has Bluetooth and so many HDMI connections so I have more options. JBL has never let me down in quality and value and this soundbar is no exception. Over all, just a few adjustments for me and my world is full of ear pleasing sound and worth every bit of the effort and purchase price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HIGH 5, JBL, I purchased this unit last year in November, it was a recertified product which is sent back to the factory, for cleaning and retested, the price was great, I was happy to finally get my SB400, after many trips to the store, nothing compares to the product, xcellent bass, thundering sound, looks great on the wall, good quality, set up was easy, once the sound bar is dialed in with the sub.It is awesome. I recommend all jbl products.

My remote control's volume control does not work. What can I do?

Asked by: vbob1234
First thing we have to make sure of is that there is nothing in between the remote and the SB400 that can cause interference with the IR signal your remote is sending to the soundbar and that you have fresh batteries on your remote. If the issue occurs after making sure that there is no interference and you have fresh batteries on the remote, complete a reset on the soundbar by following the steps below and retry the learning feature programming. While in In standby mode - Press "Volume-" (minus) button and "Surround mode" button simultaneously for approx 3 seconds - soundbar turns on - soundbar is reset. If the issue still persists, please submit a case at www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to further assist you.

How do I reset the volume controls. When I turn off the TV remote and the sound bar turns off. When I turn the TV back on, I have to press the power button on the sound bar to get it on and then it takes a while to get the sound bar to work.

Asked by: Mike Wilson
Please try resetting the SB400. In standby mode - Press "Volume-" (minus) button and "Surround mode" button simultaneously for approx 3 seconds - soundbar turns on - soundbar is reset. It is important not to press too hard on the Volume- button, because that will also press down the Volume+ end of the button, and the reset will not work then. In most ARC products, the Soundbar and TV essentially act as one device when both are connected via an ARC HDMI port. I assume the SB400 is connected to your TV's ARC HDMI port. If your TV features ON/OFF, please refer to your TV manuals to see if this feature can be enabled. If the issue persists, please submit a case at www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to further assist you.

2 - What is the ideal Crossover Frequency for the Sub? I had it at 100 when it was placed in a room with carpets and worked fine. Now it is used in a room with hardwood flooring! Unable to figure out the best number.

Asked by: ARAO
There is no specific crossover frequency settings for the sub, it's more on the user's end preference. The subwoofer’s Crossover control adjusts the subwoofer’s cutoff between 40Hz and 200Hz. The higher you set the Crossover control, the higher in frequency the subwoofer will operate and the more its bass will “overlap” that of the soundbar. This adjustment helps achieve a smooth transition of bass frequencies between the subwoofer and the soundbar for a variety of different rooms and subwoofer locations. If the bass seems too strong at certain frequencies, try a lower Crossover control setting. If the bass seems too weak at certain frequencies, try a higher Crossover control setting.

Hi can the SB400 be connected to another speaker? I have the JBL EXTREME.

Asked by: Timorphan
No. The SB400 does not have the JBL Connect feature. The SB 450 and BOOST TV are currently the only soundbars that has JBL Connect.

One of my neighbors has managed to pair their device to my SB400 and has decided they're going to play music in my house. How can I get this to stop as it's rather annoying? Is there a way to password protect the soundbar to stop this from happening?

Asked by: mike34
Unfortunately, there is no way to have the Bluetooth secured. I would advise you to reset the SB 400 to remove all previously connected devices. While in standby mode - Press "Volume-" (minus) button and "Surround mode" button simultaneously for approximately 3 seconds - soundbar turns on - soundbar is reset. It is important not to press too hard on the Volume- button, because that will also press down the Volume+ end of the button, and the reset will not work then. If you press too hard, two clicks should be felt or heard, indicating that this is wrong. Pair it with your phone before anyone else connects to it. Once it has active Bluetooth connection with your phone, no other device can connect to it.
