Highlights

You’ve got a high-definition, flat-panel TV screen that flawlessly displays all the grandeur of your video the way that its creators intended. But how about the audio? Unfortunately, these screens don’t come with speakers that match the brilliance of their video. The JBL® Cinema SB200 provides you the outstanding JBL sound that we install in movie theaters throughout the world – and does it without compromising space or style. This two-channel soundbar speaker features dual 3-1/2-inch (89-millimeter) woofers, two 1-inch (25-millimeter) tweeters, a built-in amplifier that offers up to 120 watts, HARMAN Display Surround technology for 3D sound and dual-positioning equalization that optimizes the soundbar’s performance based on its location. Its high-excursion drivers and precision bass port work to deliver powerful, resounding bass, so there’s no need to add a separate subwoofer. But what makes the SB200 even more impressive is its integrated Bluetooth® technology, which allows you to stream music easily from digital audio devices such as your iPhone, iPad, smartphone, tablet, MP3 player, laptop or personal computer. But more than providing you with exceptional sound, the SB200 also looks fabulous. Able to complement flat-panel TVs that are 32 inches (812 millimeters) and larger, the JBL Cinema SB200 is ready to grace your living room with powerful bass and beautiful sound.

The Cinema SB200 incorporates amplifiers, controls, left and right woofers and tweeters, and a built-in subwoofer solution into a single soundbar. Its built-in amplification simplifies system connections and operation, and offers up to 120 watts of power.

Movies and TV shows aren’t the only things that sound better with a JBL soundbar. The Cinema SB200 wirelessly streams music from iPhone, iPads, smartphones, tablets, MP3 players, laptops and personal computers, delivering room-filling, full-range sound reproduction with exceptional bass.

Drawing from HARMAN expertise in movie theater audio, the Cinema SB200 lets you add cinema sound without adding multiple speakers. Employing proprietary HARMAN Display Surround technology, it creates a virtual surround-sound experience while preserving the original audio mix in its timbre and special balance.

The Cinema SB200 decodes film soundtracks in their native format, which eliminates conversion stages that reduce sound quality. This setup helps the soundbar provide a superb surround-sound experience for multiple listeners.

With a unique JBL design that uses two high-excursion drivers with dual port design, the all-in-one Cinema SB200 lets you enjoy impressive bass performance without making you find room for an external subwoofer.

The Cinema SB200 easily connects to any TV – and even includes all the cables that you’ll need. Easy to install, the soundbar requires virtually no setup. Just connect and play. What could be simpler?

The Cinema SB200 features enough inputs to connect a TV and a disc player, satellite tuner or cable tuner to the system. It connects directly to any television and increases convenience – no plugging and unplugging required.

The Cinema SB200 comes with a credit card-sized remote. However, this impressive soundbar speaker can also “learn” the IR (infrared) volume-control code of your existing TV remote control, taking away the need to keep track of yet another remote for controlling the volume on your soundbar.

You can place the Cinema SB200 on a shelf or tabletop, or wall-mount it with hardware that we’ve included. A dual-position equalization feature optimizes the soundbar’s performance for any location. So you can position it where you choose without compromising sound quality.

Audiophiles respect JBL speakers for their exceptional bass response. And the Cinema SB200 lets you increase low-frequency performance by just touching a button on the included remote control. The added bass impact is ideal for films.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sound This is my second purchase of this sound bar. I have one at my summer home and after trying another brand and returning that one to store I found that other brands really don't come close to the volume and sound by the jbl 200.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A very good buy, the JBL Cinema SB 200. I bought the Soundbar a month ago at a reduced price. It has excellent sound quality with good bass. It is a high quality piece of equipment. I'm glad I was able to purchase it, I'm happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great room filling sound. Bought this as a gift for my son who lives in a huge open loft apartment. JBL never disappoints. Deep rich bass, which is always tight, never booming, and crystal clear high frequencies. This is what JBL delivers. Fills the entire apartment with sound. Well done JBL.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Balanced Sound from a Compact Package It's no surprise that the speakers on the new flat screens are terrible and I wanted to boost the sound quality for a 50" TV in a common area. I didn't want a 5.1 system and I didn't even want an extra subwoofer so I started looking at options. I listened to some single soundbar systems that sounded great, but were $700+. I originally came across a review for the SB100, but after reading about the SB200 on the JBL site (and the fact that it was on sale) I decided to jump on it. Fast and free shipping to my door, a good way to start things off. The set-up was easy. There are multiple options and I went with the optical connection using the supplied cable. Used this for the 2016 NFC Wildcard Games and it does a fantastic job with sporting events. Also tried out some movies. The explosions from Edge of Tomorrow were loud and clear (literally) and dialogue from Seven Psychopaths was easy to understand and effortless. If you want a sophisticated, complex, multi-layered, in-your-face (and expensive) sound system, this aint' it. If you want a simple, all-in-one awesome system that will enhance your sports and TV watching without breaking the bank I would highly recommend this SB200.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Sound I bought this a month ago and it is great. I know that is not a High Definition sound bar, but for the purpose is amazing. The sound is clear and powerful. Its features are awesome. Bluetooth works great and I have great sound in my room now.

The sound on my JBL SB200 sound bar cuts off after about 10 minutes have it hooked up to headphone jack and the mini in. Like the sound, but can"t watch a movie or TV show.

Asked by: EaroticSounds
The SB200 has an auto on/off feature that is based on sound. As soon as the SB200 sees an audio signal present, it will turn on and begin playing. Once it stops seeing an audio signal for 10 minutes, it goes into standby, waiting for the next time you send it an audio signal. So, if your SB200 is turning off when you don't want it to, it is likely because you are not sending it quite enough audio signal from your source (whatever device you have connected to the aux input). Simply turn the volume up on your source to at least 75%, and turn the volume on the SB200 down, to compensate. This will send the SB200 a solid signal, it will stay on, and it will sound better.

One problem on mine, it doesn't automatically power up from stand by mode. I turn off tv by remote, after 10 minutes it powers down into stand by mode. It should power back up automatically when I turn on the tv but doesn't,  I have to hit power button.

If you are using the optical input on the SB200 and it is not turning back on after going into standby, please submit a case at www.jbl.com/contactus. They will be able to resolve this for you.

I am using a Sony 7.2 receiver with my two JBL L100 speakers.  I get no center channel through them.  If I were to add a Cinema SB200 soundbar, would I get all of the channels?

Asked by: Jim S
This would not work. Your surround sound receiver already has a center channel speaker output. All you need is a center channel speaker, not a soundbar. The closest center speaker match to your L100 speakers would be the ES25C. You can check it out at this link. http://www.jbl.com/loudspeakers/ES25C.html?cgid=loudspeakers&dwvar_ES25C_color=Black#start=1

Hello  Is it me or this device doesn't recognize DTS sound and only plays Dolby? Kind regards, Daniel.

Asked by: danielfurii
That is correct. It will only recognize Dolby Digital. But please understand, in all Soundbar cases, Soundbars do not provide Dolby Digital or DTS surround sound. In order to get DD or DTS surround sound you must have a minimum of 5 speakers and a subwoofer positioned all around your room. When a soundbar states that it can accept Dolby Digital or DTS, it simply means that it can understand the signal and then do whatever processing necessary to give you the pseudo surround sound that a soundbar will give you. So, for the best results, set your source to send PCM Stereo or Dolby Digital, and the soundbar will do what it is supposed to do.

Can you add External Subwoofer with this unit? Not happy with the BASS sound

Asked by: Kochi
All of the Soundbars are self-contained units. Unfortunately there is no way to add a sub to this speaker.

hi i have the JBL CINEMA SB200, and when I am using the Bluetooth streaming music it will turn off in exactly 10 minutes. It does this all the time please help.

Asked by: Dave Craig
Sorry to hear of this issue you are having. Very often an issue like this occurs when you have your smart phone set to "power saving mode". Please try turning off any mode like that and see if it fixes your issue.

My Bluetooth comes on without me turning it on and I can't turn it off.  I live in a condo.

Asked by: GWigs
Your SB200 will be in pairing mode until you've paired a device to it. Once you have paired your own device to this, you should only be able to pair to it with another device, only if you press and hold the Bluetooth button to force it into pairing mode. If you have not yet paired to it with a device, please do so and this should fix your problem.
