Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good sound, one rotten feature I agree with another reviewer that the auto-turn-off feature is poorly conceived and I find it very annoying. A computer has many small, useful event sounds that aren't loud enough to bring the Jembe system back to audio. I would LOVE to turn that feature off permanently. How about a fix from JBL?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Auto shut off! The sound is great- if it would just stay on!! I've gone back to my ancient Logitech speakers from 2001. A shame- total waste of money.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Irritating to own I'm going to concur with the other reviews. These speakers would be nice, if only they would stay on. For whatever reason, they've included some kind of auto shut off that doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason to it. Presumably, it's when it gets too quiet, and doesn't think it needs to be on. But I've had it go quiet on me where there was clearly sound present. Then, to get them to turn back on, you have to either rotate the volume to turn it off, and then back on again, or wait for your video to create a loud enough noise for the speakers to indicate that it's time to turn back on again. Who knows what you've missed by that point. This is something that was probably created with a noble intent, but they've failed in its execution. When they operating, the sound quality is quite nice, and they did their job of reducing the amount of desk space that was being taken up by my very old component speakers. Which was really what I wanted them for. Unfortunately, any good qualities they have are seriously overwhelmed by this, what I consider, a major design flaw. Which is equally a shame, because they're not cheap.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from mechanically flawed The sound is great ... when it actually plays. It has an auto-off feature that kicks in only after a few minutes but requires a manual adjustment every time. After only a month this has now turned into a short in the speakers and only plays for a few seconds at a time. Extremely disappointed since the price is higher than direct competitors. Stick with Logitech or something cheaper than this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Auto Power Off - Annoying - If no fix, I'm returni I love the speakers... when they actually are working. But the speakers have an 'auto-off'/power save mode that kicks in apparently at random. If the speakers detect there's no sound coming from them, they go into power save. Unfortunately, they do this even when there is actually sound playing. This makes the product very irritating and essentially useless. Hopefully JBL is monitoring these reviews and can provide a fix. If I can't get this fixed soon, I'm returning and spending my money somewhere else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from horrible absolute junk. These speakers turn off after only a few minutes in some idiotic 'power saving feature'. I have not found a fix yet for this infuriating 'feature'

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tremendous sound and value for your dollar Wow, a tremendous pair of computer speakers that are well built, sound great and carry the JBL name. I listen to live concerts on these, video blogs and radio stations. At the very high volumes, low background levels or anything in-between, these speakers always sound great, well balanced, cohesive and composed. These speakers are very transparent and they simply get out of the way when listening to music. They simply leave you with just the artist and you in the room. You completely forget you are listening to a $50 pair of speakers. It's amazing that you can get such awesome sound for so little money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Auto -Off feature major flaw! I bought these speakers because the JBL speakers I used to own were awesome. Unfortunately, these speakers possess a major design flaw which causes them to turn-off in the middle of movies, youtube videos, etc… Buy something else and do not waste your money on these speakers. Any positive qualities they may have possessed were entirely outweighed by the auto-off sound feature that is not even addressed in the owners manual. Too bad, JBL used to be tp-notch.
