It’s for anyone looking to add bump in the trunk. The GT5-1202BR has exceptional motor structure venting for serious thermal power handling. Patented Slipstream port design maximizes bass output and minimizes turbulence – no chuffing or whooshing, just a deep, car-rocking bass. Turn it on and up – a progressive spider reduces distortion even at high output levels.

What's in the box?

  • (1) GT5 1202BR 12" Preloaded Ported Enclosure
  • (1) Owner's Manual

Each GT5 enclosure features a progressive spider, which offers better control at the excursion limits than the linear spider commonly used by our competitors. This progressive spider reduces distortion at high output levels.

Woofer motor structures heat up during use, causing power compression that reduces music’s dynamic range, lowering output levels and robbing the sound of its realism. JBL® woofers use vented motor structures and polepieces to give you serious thermal power-handling capability.

The patented JBL® technology creates uniformity of airflow. No distortion. No port noise. Only precise, high-output, thunderous bass reaches your ears. The double-flared shape of the oversized port is precisely calculated for greater low-frequency extension and woofer protection.

You won’t find a tougher or more reliable woofer. It has dual-stacked oversized magnets, oversized protection bars – massive metal-bar grilles for a beefy look and woofer-cone protection. Proprietary terminals take heavy-duty speaker wires and are designed exclusively for JBL® products.

With 275 watts RMS and 1100 watts of peak power handling, the GTO1202BR changes the experience of listening to your favorite music in your car. And a progressive spider gives better control for lower distortion at excursion limits.

Unlike many inexpensive band-pass subwoofers, GT5-1202BR is able to reproduce even the lowest bass frequencies thanks to a carefully-tuned enclosure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Powered Speaker. Not your typical "trigger your neighbor's car alarm" kind of sub-woofer, but definitely overall the sound is excellent. Fills my SUV with sound. Word of caution, you will need to install power from your battery for this puppy. So if you don't want to spend more or you're not the DIY guy/girl, keep looking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from $199.00. You'd be a fool not to buy it!! I don't recommend it. I'm telling you to get it!!! Hooked up to my GTO5355 amp, the clean, crisp, REAL bass will shake your head off.I have that combo in my 2000 Chevy Blazer and crank up some Carlos Santana and get a head massage. No joke. You want experience. I owned JBL floor speakers in the 80's and their QUALITY has NEVER decreased, NEVER. That price is sooo good.Wish I got it for that, but my next sub will definitely be JBL!!!!!!!

Will it fit my 2001 Honda Civic ex Sedan in trunk? If so which wires do I need? And do I have to hook it up to my battery car?

Asked by: Ruben1997
Yes this would fit your car's trunk and a 14 gauge wire should work fine on this.No need to have this hooked up to your battery as well as this is a passive speaker. For more information on what fits on your car just click on the link below.

Do the gt5 have the amp built in?

Asked by: Seabass
The GT5-1202BR is a passive subwoofer. With that said, no amplifier is built into the enclosure of the GT5-1202BR. The GT5-1202BR would totally rely on your vehicles amplifier if your vehicle has one.

How does the GT5-1202B compare to the S2-1224SS as far as sound quality and low end bass? I listen to mostly hip hop and rnb. Most of my music is played at low to mid volume.

Asked by: tylor
Thank you for your question, as far as specifications they are the same but different design. The S2 has more deeper bass than the GT5
