Does It Fit My Car?

Heads are going to turn when they hear the sound that pumps through the JBL GX Series speakers. But get in and “whoa!” they look incredible. Designed to fit most factory specs, the GX series flaunt a new HARMAN-proprietary tweeter deflector, they’re individually voiced, and have three-ohm voice coils for optimal power distribution. Add Plus One™ woofer cones, edge-driven soft dome tweeters and an ogle-worthy design, and you’ve got a speaker that does much more than deliver killer sound. The JBL GX600C component system delivers world-class JBL performance through use of several patented JBL technologies including Plus One Woofer Cones.

What's in the box?

  • Two crossovers
  • Two tweeter brackets
  • Two grills
  • One strip of mouting tape
  • Three tweeters
  • Two speakers
  • Two tweeter grills
  • Two sets of mounting hardware

The GX600C's Plus One woofer cones provide more overall speaker cone area than others in the class. With an effective increase in cone area, the speaker radiates more air. The result is a better low-frequency response and a greater ability to make those important musical notes that people often associate with larger speaker sizes.

Soft dome tweeters deliver a smooth high-frequency response and an increased power handling for highs and mids, which equates to more lifelike sound from vocals, cymbals, brass instruments and pianos.

Low-Impedance, three ohm voice coils compensate for the undergauged speaker wiring found in many of today's cars, and make the most of every watt your amplifier or head unit can deliver.

Hear what you’ve been missing — the JBL GX Series offers a frequency response that delivers the full-range response associated with exceptional sound.

For most brands, off-the-shelf speakers and a cursory approval of frequency response curves are good enough. That’s not the case with JBL. We don’t only listen to our speakers against the competition — we voice them against each other to ensure each line has the consistent JBL sound signature that’s known and sought out by those who care about their audio. This is just part of an extensive development process undertaken by some of the best transducer engineers in the world to provide the finest listening experience at any price point.

Acting as a waveguide, the tweeter deflector allows for an angled, rotating speaker, which optimizes the off-axis sound performance. Because all cars are designed differently, this allows impeccable sound to travel throughout all locations in the cabin.

The GX component systems feature external crossover housings, which provide space for sophisticated circuits including an adjustable tweeter level control and advanced tweeter protection.

The JBL GX Series are all designed to give audio enthusiasts more boom for the buck — while they maintain a conservative price point, there is never a compromise in sound.

JBL tests every speaker design to the same rigid specifications as the automakers, subjecting them to extreme conditions that would break lesser speakers. We freeze them, bake them, shake them, blast them with ultraviolet light and drive them at full power for days to make sure your audio investment lasts for years.

Hi, my car radio has 50 watts x 4, do I still need an amplifier? Thanks in advance.

Asked by: Jorgy29
The GX600C can hadle 70 watts of RMS power handling. This means that any amp with a power output of 70 watts per channel or less will work fine with these speakers. That said, you wouldn't need to add an amp as the GX600C can handle the power rating of your car radio.

If I wanna go fully active instead of using the crossover, what is the impedence of the woofers alone, and the tweeter;, and are the tweeters OK with a low of 200hz on a crossover?

Asked by: FadedAxle
The woofer and the tweeter have a nominal impedance of 2.3 ohms. The tweeters are not okay with a low of 200hz on a crossover as they will likely blow.

How do you wire these up if you cars OEM system already had separate fed Tweeters/Mids in the front doors? Do you still use the provided crossover, or just wire them directly to the existing feeds?

Asked by: Mathew
Thank you for your question, if you are replacing the Tweeter and Midrange yes you will need to use the JBL crossover matched with our speakers and tweeters

Asked by: joey07
Thank you for your question...Voicing is extremely similar and in reality I like the 609C more than the older gx600c. Better tweeter and better midrange clarity.
