The range can reach way farther than I thought it would, and the app that controls the lights is really easy to use. Waterproof works great and seems very durable.

Not bothered by the bigger size because the sound got better with better bass also. Battery life also improved from the pulse 2. Highly recommend. 5 stars

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great JBL Bluetooth speaker! The previews earlier in the year were tantalizing but I wanted to experience this speaker before I bought one. I finally gave in and ordered it from JBL after the earliest buyers posted video reviews. My speaker arrived today. Out of the box it sounded scratchy causing some initial concern. After letting it play for several minutes the sound smoothed out and was great! I'm thinking maybe the drivers needed to break in. I played everything from classical to metal and all I can say is the sound reproduction of this speaker did not disappoint. I went back and played the first song that sounded scratchy. It now sounded just fine. I would best describe the sound from this speaker as well balanced, accurate, crisp+clear with just the right amount of base not to he overbearing. The 360 degree sound is a game changer IMO. It fills the room with great sound. I can not hear any change in the sound even when rotating the speaker in my hand all the way around. The light shows add to what is already a super cool speaker. Personally I would not ho-hum the light show feature. It is what makes the Pulse 3 special and it is a great feature that will not get boring. So far I like everything about this speaker. I have other JBL Bluetooth speakers but I put them away in their cases when not in use. I will be keeping my Pulse 3 handy as I will be using it the most when I need a speaker that I would set down to use. One more opinion and that is although there are videos comparing the Pulse 3 to other speakers this speaker really is in a class of its own IMO. Glad I ordered it. Now go get yours!

Do the lights cause radiation of some sort.  Even with Bluetooth is this completely safe to use?

Yes, the lights in the PULSE 3 are just LED lights that doesn't emit radiation. For Bluetooth, it does emit radiation but it's completely safe.

Is it safe to keep the Pulse 3 charging at all times while displaying its light show?

Yes, it is completely safe to leave the PULSE 3 connected to the power whether it is in use or not. Take note that using the PULSE 3 while plugged in will prolong the charging time.

Can the new Pulse 3 be paired with another Pulse 3 or any other JBL Bluetooth speaker to play in stereo, or is it only capable of playing in mono?

Yes. Stereo mode will only work if both speakers are the same model using the JBL Connect app. Party mode is the only available option when two different models are paired.

Can JBL Connect PLUS pair with JBL Connect?

At the moment, this is not possible. We are currently testing the CHARGE 3, and can not yet say if Connect+ will work on it. The hardware used in these products is different from that in the newer products, which come with Connect+ standard. If the results ( connectivity issues, product issues, quality issues ) are not in line with the high standard that we set for our products, we may not be releasing such an update to the Charge 3. If an update however will be possible, this update will be released through our JBL Connect mobile app, available on iOS and Android devices, and you will get a notification from within the app, telling you an update is available.

Is there any way that I could pair the speaker with subs? Is there a port allows this?

The PULSE 3 cannot be paired with any sub. Its port is used to plugged in a 3.5mm aux cable to play audio from any non-Bluetooth device.

Can the Pulse 3 be hung from above?  Does it have loop or ring for hanging?   I would like to hang it from the beams in the roof of a pergola over a hot tub.

Unfortunately, there is no way to hang the speaker because there is no loop or ring. There's also no hole for you to install a lace on the speaker for you to hang it.

I am a little nervous to buy as I bought the 2 - two of the 2's and the JBL connect did not work stuttering popping crackling at start of each tune - horrible - sad thing is how would u know if it were fixed until u buy - support wasn't much help really -

I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with the PULSE 2. Please try and connect the speaker to a different source/phone to isolate the issue. Reception of Bluetooth can be heavily influenced by surrounding environment. We have some suggestions to possibly address the issue you're having with the PULSE 2. 1. Please note that if you have a large number of Apps open in your smartphone or tablet, this may block or overtax its processor. Dropouts may result. Try to close all or most active apps. This should solve the problem. 2. Bluetooth signals from smartphones and tablets are not very strong. Make sure that the signal does not have to pass through doors, walls etc. Always maintain a clear line of sight between transmitter and receiver. 3. Reset the PULSE 2 by following this step: While the unit is turned ON, press and hold "Volume +" and "Play" buttons at the same time. The PULSE 2 will turn off indicating that it has been reset. I noticed that you are in Canada. If none of these things work, please submit a case at http://ca.jbl.com/other-support-134955.html and our Customer Service Team would be more than happy to assist you.
