Hello,we need your recommendation for a mid range with tweeter speaker to pair with two EON 618 S Sub woofers we have in a hotel lobby bar. Aesthetics is an issue for us,therefore a built in ceiling model would be preferred. Tks

The JBL SP8CII are passive architectural speakers that require power from an amplifer/receiver. As long as you can provide roughly 100 watts of power at 8 ohms to each speaker, they will work great. The SP8CII’s mounting depth is 4-1/4" (108mm) and its diameter is 9-1/2" (240mm). If the listening area is enclosed from the outdoor environment, the SP8CII will function as intended. Please note: you may or may not need more than a pair of SP8CII speakers depending on the listening area size and audio volume level.

Hi, Can these SP811 be used in a 5.1 configuration? Should I use the SP811 as a center speaker in other words use 5 of SP811 in 5.1 configuration. Thank you, David

Asked by: DavidG
Yes, the SP8II can work according in a 5.1 speaker configuration system. As a center speaker the SP8II will work great, just as long as you use them in all locations (all 5 channels). If you need further support about our product, please submit a case request at www.jbl.com/support-contact.html and the Customer Service team will be more than happy to assist you.

Can these be installed where there's no back wall (free air)? Would the sound be altered when installed in this configuration?

Asked by: Xixon
The SP8II was designed to be used without a box, free air shouldn't be a problem and the sound quality should still be the same.
