High-fidelity component car speakers bring life to your sound system.

The JBL® GTO Series high-fidelity automotive speakers feature innovative technologies that we’ve engineered for the environment and conditions in today’s cars to help them deliver exceptional sound. Using carbon-injected Plus One® (U.S. patent no. 7,548,631) woofer cones, fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) frames, butyl-rubber surrounds and fabric tweeter diaphragms, the GTO Series automotive speakers are the ideal upgrade to any car’s audio system. GTO Series speakers, including component separates with woofer, tweeter and passive crossover, cover the most popular factory-replacement and aftermarket sizes. Other unique features – such as UniPivot™ (U.S. patent no. 6,002,780) tweeter positioning and tweeter level controls on select coaxial models, and the I-Mount™ (U.S. patent no. 5,859,917) system for the tweeters in the component separates – provide even greater installation flexibility so you can more easily achieve the ultimate in-vehicle sound experience. Easily installed and built to last, the JBL GTO Series speakers bring music to life in your car.

Hi, would the JBL GTR-104 amp be enough to power the speakers at their full potential?

Asked by: lexmarkpol
The GTR-104 provides 120 Watts RMS at 2 Ohms while the GTO609C can handle 200 Watts RMS at 3 Ohms. This setup would work fine. However, if you want to maximize the full capacity of GTO609C, you ought to considering an amp that can drive up to 200 Watts RMS at 2 or 4 Ohms.

I plan on running the 609 on an active crossover, can you recommend rms, hz, db and anything else?

Asked by: Rflo
The GTO609C is a complete system by itself having a dedicated crossover to produce the best quality sound the GTO 609C as intended to. The provided passive crossover plays a large part in the sonic quality. However, if you choose to go with an active crossover, a great starting point is 2500Hz. You should not go below 2000Hz or above 4000Hz. Just find the point that sounds best to you. As for wattage, the woofer can handle the full 200 watts of power, while the tweeter should not go above 75 watts.

I am interested in JBL speakers.Which combination speakers (component speakers) and amp i have to buy for Renault Scala ?

Asked by: Chongle
Thank you for your questions. Our brand websites has an application that tells whether or not our speakers are compatible with certain vehicles. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find your vehicle within the application to provide a definitive answer. However, if speaker mounting location in your car meets the dimensions of the CLUB 6500C, it may fit with slight modification. The CLUB 6500C is a 3 ohm component speaker system that can handle 60 watts RMS. Its mounting cutout diameter is 123.4 mm and the mounting depth 44.6 mm. For power, you may consider the CLUB 4505 amplifier. This is 5 channel amp capable of driving four full ranged speakers and a subwoofer.

I've got a Blaupunkt 945 Capetown , and would like a pair of JBL.  GTO 609c , would I need an amp, if so which amp would I go for .

Asked by: Anonymous
Hi. For all "normal" listening, your head unit should do fine, based on the stated output of 50 W per channel. If you want to play close to the limit of loud the 609 can go, you should get a separate amplifier, which will usually improve audio quality as well. The JBL GX-A604 can deliver up to 170 W per channel into two channels in bridged mode, and would do nicely. The smaller 602 is not much more powerful than your head unit on paper, but should give you more authority and better quality, although it will not play much louder than the head unit, at least not based on the power specs alone at 60 W per channel into 4 Ohms.

When matching an amplifier to the GTO609C speakers, what ohm rating should I get?

Asked by: jakecarter125
The GTO609C being a 3-ohm speaker is advisable to be powered by a 2-ohm compatible amplifier. In other words, as long as your amp can handle a 2 ohm load, you will have no problem driving your GTO609C speakers.
