It’s for anyone looking to add bump in the trunk. The GT5-1202BR has exceptional motor structure venting for serious thermal power handling. Patented Slipstream port design maximizes bass output and minimizes turbulence – no chuffing or whooshing, just a deep, car-rocking bass. Turn it on and up – a progressive spider reduces distortion even at high output levels.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from $199.00. You'd be a fool not to buy it!! I don't recommend it. I'm telling you to get it!!! Hooked up to my GTO5355 amp, the clean, crisp, REAL bass will shake your head off.I have that combo in my 2000 Chevy Blazer and crank up some Carlos Santana and get a head massage. No joke. You want experience. I owned JBL floor speakers in the 80's and their QUALITY has NEVER decreased, NEVER. That price is sooo good.Wish I got it for that, but my next sub will definitely be JBL!!!!!!!

would a GX A602 work with this particular SW?

Asked by: joe1280
The GX-A602 amplifier is rated to be able to drive up to 85W of power to a 2-ohm load speaker and when bridged, it can drive up 170W of power to a 4-ohm load. The GT5-1202BR on the other hand is a 2-ohm speaker that can handle up to 275W. Given this, we know that the GX-A602 would not be recommended to be used with this amplifier. We recommend that you look at other amps, possibly a mono-block amp similar to the GX-A3001 that can drive 300W of power @ 2-ohms. This will be perfect for the GT5.

I have a kenwood 600w amp what subwoofer would be suitable for this amp?

Asked by: Chuckles
First, we have to know if the 600W rating on your amplifier is the peak or the RMS rating. Please check on your amplifier's specifications and check on its rating when running a single/bridged channel at 2-ohms, if it does not go over what the GT5-1202BR can handle which is 275W, this should work fine.

Asked by: saskia
Yes, the GT5-1202BR would work well with the GX-A604 since this amplifier can deliver up to 85W of power to the GT5-1202-BR that can handle up to 275W of power.

I have the Precision Power i1000.4 650W Class D Full Range 4ch Amplifier Currently. Would buying this amp and connecting it to that one still allow it to work? Or would I need to buy a new amp for this sub.

Asked by: BearZ
The GT5-1202BR is a passive subwoofer. With that said, no amplifier is built into the enclosure of the GT5-1202BR. The GT5-1202BR would totally rely on your vehicles amplifier. You would need a subwoofer amplifier for this particular model.

Will it fit my 2001 Honda Civic ex Sedan in trunk? If so which wires do I need? And do I have to hook it up to my battery car?

Asked by: Ruben1997
Yes this would fit your car's trunk and a 14 gauge wire should work fine on this.No need to have this hooked up to your battery as well as this is a passive speaker. How does the GT5-1202B compare to the S2-1224SS as far as sound quality and low end bass? I listen to mostly hip hop and rnb. Most of my music is played at low to mid volume.

Asked by: tylor
Thank you for your question, as far as specifications they are the same but different design. The S2 has more deeper bass than the GT5
