Rated 5 out of 5 by from KAAAA-BOOOOOM! Bolt everything to the walls..nail the furniture down and strap the kids ( or pets ) to the couch. This thing hits like a ton of lead! It does take some tweaking to get it to match the other speakers but once it's dialed in the difference is amazing. My living room is carpeted so it did tend to muffle the down firing design ( vent tube ) but once I got it up on some vinyl flooring it was game on! This is not for apartment living or neighbors living close by..this is for a system you can cut loose on with no one around. Truly incredible for the price..lets see if it lasts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On Thank you JBL for allowing me to purchase a great sub at a super price. As owner of L100's since 1974, which are still rocking, nothing but kudos for an iconic brand that still continues to deliver.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredibly powerful sub I bought the ES250P to extend the low end of my JBL LXE770 front speakers (8" Woofers / 4" Mid / 1" Dome Tweeter). At first the ES250P was pounding me with the deep deep bass and nothing else - and not mixing well with my front speakers. I had the volume at 3/4 and the sub was either unheard or overpowering. But I kept listening and adjusting. After about 2 weeks they started to break-in. Every time I listened I turned the volume down a little. By week 4 I had them at 1/3 volume and crossed at about 80Hz and the sound was great. I got plenty of good low-end bass that mixed very well with my fronts. They added depth that was missing. For movies the bass they put out was tremendous. I had to turn the volume down even more. They added much needed realism to my movies. For the money this is an incredibly powerful sub. I turned my system up to half volume (the sub is on 1/3) and everything was shaking to the bass. It actually scared me a little bit just how powerful the sound was. I'll never play it that loud ever again. It's scary to think about how powerful this thing would be if I turned it up all the way. The only thing I don't like is the design of the boxes and the grills - they do not prevent dust from getting inside to the driver - which for a 12" sub that may not matter - it's just a little annoying. I love the light on the top that let's you know when it's on or in standby. It's easy to see. This sub is very convenient with variable volume and crossover point knobs and a standby feature. I recommend to add numbers and tick marks to the volume and crossover dials - makes it easier to remember settings in case you're like me and you want to turn it down a little for movies and back up for music (although getting down there to actually see those numbers may be hard enough to negate any value they could provide). The ES250P will add depth to your music and thundering realism to your movies.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great 12" sub! I have another big brand 12" sub, but to my pleasant surprise the ES250BPK surpassed it by a wide lead! High sound quality (no distortion even at high volumes), plenty of power, deep and intense bass at low volumes (the walls of my house are solid bricks and "I can feel goooood" the vibration when I put my hands on them)! Desing sleek and compact, simplicity of installation and quiet operation. To be perfect could come with remote control and wireless connection, but these features are only available in much more expensive subs and we do not need if you have a receiver of high quality with accurate calibration. In Brazil I paid over USD 1200 (high taxes and shipping costs), but even so the cost-benefit ratio was excellent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely pleased. Expectations exceeded tenfold. I've had 3 or 4 months to get used to this sub. I knew JBL was the finest speaker you can buy, and this bad boy is something you need to hear. Very deep, steady, thunderous, pure bass comes out of this thing. I had no problem lining it up with my main front speakers. I run a Compression Horn set with dual 5" mids and a 12" aluminum cone woofers. Now I'd like to cut out everything under about 100 hz to my mains, I no longer need them for anything below that. Sure, on older recordings you need to turn it up. Newer recordings you had better turn it down. I mostly listen to my peculiar mix of mostly Rock, and if I decide to cut it loose it feels like it's going to heave the house up off of it's foundation. And it's seamlessly blended into my mains. It required some setting up on my receiver, and I mostly use the sub volume on the receiver and leave the sub just a tad below the kick drum. I am so pleased that I plan to buy another, A matching set. Set them up with my mains above each sub. I can't wait, but I'm presently so content with the one. You absolutely cannot go wrong adding this subwoofer to your system. Period. With JBL, you will most definitely "Hear The Truth".
