But you don’t have to be a professional to bring the legendary JBL sound home. Studio-proven performance.
Although their dramatic new look may suggest a radical departure from convention, Studio 180 floor-standing loudspeakers deliver the dynamic range, tonal accuracy and spatial transparency that have long set JBL systems apart. With midrange and high-frequency transducers mounted at the ear level of a seated listener, they deliver more direct sound with fewer unwanted reflections. The rigid, heavily braced enclosure includes a rear-facing bass port for extended bass response. The enclosure itself, available in a silver-tinted black or cherry vinyl finish, incorporates the distinctive JBL Weave design for a dynamic, one-of-a-kind look.

Advanced technologies and materials.
The Studio 180 system features a woofer with a stiff, lightweight ribbed PolyPlas™ cone and rubber surround that dissipates heat and minimizes distortion, even at high listening levels. The midrange driver, with a PolyPlas cone and cloth surround, is housed in a separate sub-enclosure to isolate its sound from that of the woofer, improving overall clarity. A CMMD® Lite tweeter dome with proprietary Bi-Radial® waveguide eliminates unwanted resonances and distributes clear, distinct high-frequency sound over a wider listening area, greatly expanding your room’s “sweet spot.” All drivers are magnetically shielded for placement near video monitors when used in home theater configurations.

Studio 180 speakers perform brilliantly in stereo pairs, reproducing your favorite music with all the subtlety and nuance of the original performance. But they are also voice-matched to the other speakers in the Studio 1 Series (Studio 120c, Studio 130 and Studio 190), making it easy for you to design the ideal home theater for virtually any listening space.
